Dear Parishioners, Thank you for what you have offered generously each week to assist in the work of our parish. As you can see in the bulletin report, you have responded generously . We move closer to our goal of $24,000 each weekend in offertory. I invite those who have not already partici-pated in our increased offertory pledge to contribute what you can to assist the daily work of our parish. On my part, I will do everything necessary to ensure we are being good stewards of the offering you entrust to our care. Thank you! As announced last weekend we will begin two new sac-ramental times. Confessions will also be heard on Thursdays from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. and a new Mass time at 1:00 p.m. in Spanish begins today. This will as-sist with social distancing requirements and the growing needs of our parish. Registration for sacramental preparation will intensify in the month of September. Please read the announce-ments in the bulletin to learn more on how to register. As more people join us for Mass, please be attentive to social distancing within the pew, the communion line, and leaving the church. Extra distance, where possible, with face masks and hand washing mitigates the possi-bility of transmission. Please consider joining us in person or online for the Feast day of our parish, Exaltation of the Holy Cross on September 14
th. We will broadcast our Mass online at

Come And See: Are you, or do you know anyone, who has not yet been baptized or was baptized in another Christian faith? Ever wondered why Catholics bless themselves with the sign of the cross, what they believe about communion, what’s up with all those saints and statues, and rosaries, and standing, sitting and kneeling, why does Mary seem so important? Well, why not come and see and come and learn?
This year’s RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) Program begins on Thursday, September 17. We will meet in the Main Church. There is no cost, no obligation, no commitment necessary. In a series of friendly, informative and spiritually exciting classes we will explore the major things Catholics believe and why. We will learn more about the Mass and what is happen-ing and why. Learn about prayer, scripture, sacraments and much more.
Are you Catholic and interested in learning more about your faith? Would you be willing to be part of this pro-gram, to be part of a faith community willing to journey with and support those interested in leaning more about our faith? Religious Education In-Person Registration
If you are not able to register online for Religious Education for 2020/21. We will have in-person registration on September 12th, 13th, 19th & 20th after all Masses in the Portico. The best way to register is online at www.santacruzcc.org/registration.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Conference at Santa Cruz Parish has continued to serve the needs of an average of 60 families a month during the summer representing 250 individu-als. We have continued to do this since the beginning of the pandemic. We have
had to adjust our process to comply with the social dis-tance guidelines. Every other Saturday we have Food Bank Distribution from 8 till 9 AM, now done with curbside service. The schedule for the next few months is as fol-lows: September 5 and 19; October 3, 17, and 19; No-vember 14 and 28; December 12 and 26. Our members have provided families in need during the
summer months with assistance toward housing, utilities
and other pressing needs. We have changed our proce-
dures from visiting neighbors in their homes to conduct-
ing the visits over the phone to provide advice and coun-
sel regarding resources available along with financial as-
sistance during the pandemic. It is your generosity that
has allowed our conference to continue uninterrupted
assistance to those in need. We thank you for your sup-
port and pray for you at every meeting.
