Get excited! The best fundraiser of the year iscoming!
What is the Rocket Raffle?
This fundraiser is overwhelmingly a favorite forstudents and staff alike. Each and every raffle itemhas been donated by one or more of ourwonderful teachers, staff, or administrators. InJanuary, the list of raffle prizes will be sent home. Students, with the help oftheir parents, can choose which raffle prizes to buy tickets for. The ticketsare 5 for $5, 12 for $10, and 25 for $20. The directions for how to purchaseyour tickets and select your prizes will be included in the packet. There arenearly 100 events being offered! The kids love being able to spend bonustime in small groups with their teachers and other staff members doing fun,non-classroom activities. There are also entries for adults, like parking spacesfor fifth-grade graduation and Celebration of Nations. We have a lot of NEWitems in the raffle this year, so please take some time to go through all of theofferings. Rocket Raffle Kickoff is Monday, January 14. There will be a two-week window during which you can purchase your tickets. The winners ofeach raffle prize will be chosen at random, and students will be notifiedduring the first part of February.
This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, with all of the money raisedgoing directly back to the school. Last year, the raffle was an
incredible success: we raised more than $16,000! With theproceeds, the teachers purchased books, cubbies, art supplies, ukuleles, and many other materials and tools that enable PSE tocontinue to offer the best educational opportunities possible for
our students. Please help support our school while providinggreat experiences for you and your children!

Please consider this a gentlereminder that the last call we willmake into a classroom for a child’searly dismissal from school is 2:30pm. With the winter break fastapproaching, we urge you to considertiming should you need to take yourchild(ren) home from school early. We suggest you arrive by 2:20! Thispolicy is not new and was institutedafter careful consideration for the safedismissal of our students. Tominimize classroom disruption at theend of the day, please make yourchild’s teacher aware of his or herearly dismissal by written note. Thisway, your child will be packed up andready to go when the office calls theclassroom, upon your arrival.
If you are volunteering in the lateafternoon, please be aware that safeschool policy does not allow childrento accompany parents to the office fordismissal. School policy requiresparents to come to the office andsign children out. The office, in turn, will call the classroom to request thechild. School policy also does notallow parents to sign children out andthen return to the classroom. Thesafety of our students and staff is ourpriority, and we appreciate yourunderstanding and compliance withthis process.
