Dear Fellow Cattle Enthusiasts,Another year has flown by and sale season is in full swing. We would like to take this opportunity to extend an invitation to the 5th Annual Livin’ the Dream Sale. I sincerely want to thank you for your consideration, we know there are many places to shop for cattle, but I am confident that is set is as deep with quality from top to bottom as you will find anywhere. Without question, our goal is to make our cattle better and better every year, no doubt this is our best group yet, and early visitors have agreed. I have never been a high pressure sales type, rather let the cattle speak for themselves, but if you want an honest opinion, give me a call and I will tell you what I think.

Whether you are looking for your next Purebred or Foundation show heifers, Bred Heifers, or Donor Cow prospects, we are confident that you have come to the right place. We are proud that our pictures honestly represent our cattle, so rest assured, what you see in the catalog is what is running around in our pens. We know our females can raise heifers and bulls, and are expected to thrive in real world conditions, so be confident that your purchase will go home and make you money when you put her in production. Every year we get more and more reports of success stories from our genetics.

What great times we are enjoying as cattle breeders right now. The cattle market has bounced back after some bumps this summer. Commercial cattle are still worth a lot of money. I truly believe that these pedigreed cattle with predictability seem to be the most logical purchase right now. Whether they are purebred or percentage, spending a few hundred extra dollars to know generations of genetics seems to make a great deal of financial sense, and a decision that will not take long to pay off. Please note that almost all bred heifers sell safe to their AI dates, bred to some of the most potent sires available today.

I am not sure where to start the footnote with this heifer. She is one that I could write pages on but will try to keep it as short as I can. She has been a standout since day 1 and really hasn’t had a bad day since. She is huge footed, very sound, lots of body depth and rib shape, stout, and a look from the profile that demands

your attention. She has been shown 2 times, being named Champion Fall Heifer at the Iowa State Fair and Calf Champion and Reserve Supreme Champion at the Minnesota State Fair and has gained quite the following. Her dam is one of Rhythms finest daughters and we turned down lots of offers for her, so this heifer is no fluke. Her dam was flushed twice after calving last year and average 18 embryos and bred back shortly thereafter. Fertility runs strong in this cow family. This is as good of heifer as we have produced in my mind. If you want one to run this summer at Junior Nationals, you have to see this heifer. Put aside her show career and she is still a breed changing donor cow in waiting. Help yourself here folks, its this kind that makes all the long hours worth it. Our Madden bull has really done a nice job here in a clean up role and so I decided to flush some of our better cows that way, hoping to get some high quality, outcross offspring. I think it was a good decision. These Maddens are the only direct spring born Rhythm daughters in the sale and are both very nice. 566C is actually Rhythms natural calf and she still does a great job raising a calf. Both of these heifers are attractive fronted heifers that are sound made and really stout when you get behind them. They are also homo black by pedigree. This half blood female is really unique. She has drawn a lot of attention from early visitors thus far and for good reason. I really don’t think her picture does her

This is the only red open heifer in the offering and the only red calf we had born this year. Initially, she wasn’t in the sale group and was weaned later than the rest of the sale heifers. Every day when I walked through our replacements, I couldn’t help but notice her, and so enough was enough and we decided to put her in the sale. We tied her up and washed her for the first time on a Wednesday, clipped her on a Thursday, and pictured her on a Friday. I haven’t seen the picture yet, but I am guessing it doesn’t do her justice. She is a super sound heifer that is long fronted, deep bodied, square made, and stout. She is also one of the highest performing heifers in the sale. An outstanding pair of flush mate sisters here. These Combustibles are big bodied, stout made heifers, that are super sound and are very nice haired. Here is one of my favorite Pays to Dream spring born heifers. She is out of an outstanding Excalibur daughter that goes back to a great Macho x Angus female. Her grandam is truly something special. 548C is a long, freaky necked female that has plenty of body depth, along with a big foot and huge legs. She is square made and moves with ease. Remember the Pays to Dreams get better the older they get, and she is pretty good already. Here is one that I would rather be leading than following this summer and into the fall.

Rhythm 418P has accomplished some great things in her storied career here. She is right at $750,000 in lifetime progeny sales, produced several great sires, and several great donor females. They are the right kind, they are attracted made cattle, that are functional and can still thrive in commercial environments. The one thing that probably impresses me the most about her and her offspring are their feet. I wish every cow we have would have feet like hers, and her offspring do. With all that being said, I think that this Wide Open daughter may very well be the best of the best when it comes to Rhythm offspring. I realize her picture is good, but she is every bit as good in person. She is awesome looking, easy keeping, sound made and extremely stout. She has a great disposition and is Homo Black and Homo Polled by pedigree. There was a brief period in time where she did have a stayability EPD, and her API was all the way up to 120. Obviously it is not that now, but to give you an idea when she gets it back, her API will be respectable. She is good enough that she has the ability to make any bull look good. I think her blaze faced bull calf by Uno Mas is a good one and there is no doubt in my mind he will fetch a pretty penny when it comes time to sell him.
