HappyEaster!IhopethejoyofJesus'resurrec-tioncancarryforwardinyourlifeintothecom-ingweeks,especiallythisSeasonofEaster,butbeyondaswell!WhatEasteristotheyear,Sun-dayistotheweek—whattheChurchhasalwayscalled"LittleEaster"eachweek—whenwerecallthiscentralfactofourfaithandChurch'slife,thatJesuscallsustodieandrisewithhimtonewlifeallthetime.

ThisweekwethankeveryoneforeverythingtheyhavedonetomakeourparishexpressionoffaithinthePaschalMysteryofJesussuchabeautifulandprofoundexperienceintime.Thesheernumberofhoursthatarespentinplan-ning,publications,musicrehearsing,decorating,loadingandunloading,andthenthehundredsofpeopleonhandtodowhatisneededfortheliturgiesthemselves,ourushers/greeters,minis-tersofWordandEucharist,vocalists,choirsandinstrumentalists,altarserversanddeaconsandpriests.Theweekafterisoftencomparedtowhatamothersometimesgoesthroughafterhavingababy—nowwhat?Somuchgoesintothebigevent,youalmosthavetoreinventwhatcomesnextbecausetherewassomuchgoingonweweren'tthinkingaboutEasterMonday!

SomeonesaidIshouldhavekepttrackofthenumberofhourspeoplespent,thatnobodywouldbelieveit.Well,thatistrue,ifitwereevenpossible,butsomeonewouldhavetospendalotofhoursjustcountingalotofhours.

So,toallofyou,thanks.Ihopeyourparticipa-tionfilledyourheartswithEasterjoyandthatyourtiredisagoodtired.Iknowmineis.Andthatyouaregettinggoodandregularsleep.Godhasgottobepleasedwiththehardwork,thesharpuseofgifts,thebigworkofpraiseandthanks.Weallacknowledgethatthesethingsjustdon'thappen,anditisthankstoallofyouthatitdidthisyear.Ithinkourliturgiesweremorebeautifulthisyearthantheyhaveeverbeen.

Celebrating the TriduumStudentsatHolyCrossAcademyandSt.MaryPreschoolspentthedaysofHolyWeekpreparinginaspecialwayforthePaschalTriduumandthegreatfeastofEaster.In2ndgrade,thechildrencelebratedasharedmealofbreadandjuiceastheylearnedabouttheLastSupperandpreparedtoreceivetheEucharistverysoonattheirFirstCommunion.TheyrememberedhowJesuswashedthefeetofhisfriendstoteachallofushowtoserveoneanother.

OurthirdgradersdecidedtoputtogetherEasterbasketsforthechildrenattheBrisbenShelterfortheirclass’sHopeProject.InthisJubileeYearofMercy,ourstudentswantedtotakecare

ofthechildreninourcommunitywhoarenotasfortunateastheyare.Thechildrenbroughtintheitems,preparedthebasketsandhelpedtoloadthemonthetruck.Whentheshelterrepresentativeaskedthemwhoteachesustohelpothers,theyrespondedenthusiastically,“Jesusdoes.”
