Once again we will be starting the ACSA campaign for 2018 this year it is $7.761.00 He sat down opposite the treasury and observed how the crowd put money into the treasury. Many rich people put in large sums. A poor widow also came and put in two small coins worth a few cents. Calling his disciples to himself, he said to them,
“Amen, I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the other contributors to the treasury. For they have all contributed from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has contributed all she had, her whole
livelihood.” Mark 12:41-44 Church Cleaners: Sept 1st week Sept 3rd week Katie Prose If you cannot clean on the week you are scheduled you may contact Katie Prose at 217-313-0915 for a fee she will clean for you. From the Diocese
Ashamed and silent. Jesus takes the disciples aside for some teaching. They just don’t get it – yet. He catches them arguing about who is the big shot, the best, the first in line. They grew silent, and, no doubt, ashamed. He embraces a child, as any grandparent would do, and says: receive them, be like them, be last! Be full of mercy! Saint James adds on: cultivate peace.
How can I push my ego to the back and attend to the other?
Who will I let be first, go first this week? Since Baptism calls me to service, how will mercy fill what I do and say?

Bible Study: The Mass with Bishop Robert Barron All are invited to join the upcoming fall Bible session featuring The Mass with Bishop Robert Barron. Walk through the
Liturgy with Bishop Barron and you'll be transformed through insights on this most privileged and intimate encounter
with our Lord Jesus Christ. See how the Mass brings us out of the fallen world and into the heavenly realm, how it
resonates with a call from God and a response from his people, the Church, and, most importantly, how we are intimately
joined with the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus through the Holy Eucharist. The Mass will help you understand
how to fully, consciously, and actively participate in the source and summit of the Christian life.
The sessions will begin on Sunday, Oct. 21, 6:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Virden. Optional study guides are $25 each
plus shipping. Please call Annette Cole at 217-370-5637 to register.
