Due to the widespread outbreak of influenza, we will only offer Holy Communion under the form of the Precious Body. In Addition, a verbal only sign of peace is recommended.
Still in our midst. Two thousand years ago “on the evening of the first day of the week,” when the disciples hid behind locked doors, Jesus did three things. He stood in their midst. He gave gifts of peace and Holy Spirit. He sent them out. Jesus is still in our midst, still doing the same. Every Sunday Mass makes it so. In our midst in Word and Eucharist. Gifting us with peace and Spirit. Telling us to “Go in peace, glorifying the Lord by your life.”
Who am I and who are we locking in or locking out? Because peace is a gift given and shared, what will I do this week? To whom will I go; what will I do?

Bible Study There will be no Bible study session on Easter Sunday. The Bible study sessions of "Divine Mercy, the Second Greatest Story Ever Told" will continue Sunday, April 8, 6:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Virden, with the "The Secret of Divine Mercy" session. Please join us as we journey deeper into the history, the faith, and beauty surrounding Divine Mercy. Deacon Rick will be offering Evening Prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours that evening at 6:00 p.m. with the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
Italian Night of Food & FunMark Your Calendars!! St. Patrick's Church is planning an Italian Night on Saturday, April 14, 4:30-7 p.m. Join us for homemade Italian dishes including lasagna, spaghetti, fettuccini alfredo, salad, green beans, garlic bread sticks and desserts. Advance adult tickets are $9, at the door are $10; children 5-12 are $5; and 5 and under are free. All proceeds will go to the parish capital campaign for repairs to our
church steeple. Buy your tickets today after Mass.
K of C Scholarship: The Virden K of C Council 2321 is offering and education scholarship up to $500 for an individual who meets the K of C application requirements as listed on the application form. Interested individuals can obtain an application from the KC Hall or church office. Completed applications need to be submitted and/or mailed by May 1 to the Scholarship Committee at Virden KC Council, 1320 N. Dye St., Virden, IL 62690.

Our Sanctuary Candle is being offered as a perpetual memorial to a loved one. The candle will last 2weeks and the name of the loved one will appear in the bulletin for the two weeks. It will look something like this.If you wish for this to be your loved one send $15.00 in a plain envelope marked Sanctuary Candle.This is not the Intentions that are read each week. The Intentions are still the same.
