Would you like to improve your Arabic proficiency by taking language courses in Jordan? If you’ve thought about improving your Spanish in Costa Rica, participating in a service learning program in Jamaica, or learning about Afro-Brazilian culture in Brazil, then this is the event for you! Stop by the Bell Tower on Thursday, September 15th, 2016 to learn about opportunities to study in Latin America and the Caribbean from the oceans of Turks and Caicos to the Iguazu Falls in Argentina. If you’ve always dreamed of going to a university on the Gold Coast or hiking the islands of New Zealand, stop by the Bell Tower on Friday, September 16th, 2016 to learn about opportunities to study in Oceania. Learn about all of the programs that can take you from the Great Barrier Reef to the glaciers of New Zealand. Advisors and returned students will be there to answer your questions. Special Events Festa di Roma. Join us as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Temple University Rome at Festa di Roma, an annual event and exhibition hosted by the Tyler School of Art to highlight artwork created by students while studying at Temple University Rome. This year’s Festa will feature the Postcard Project, miniature artwork from The Tiny Biennale and Rome Sketchbooks, as well as an exhibition of Rome MFA work. Passport Day. Thinking about studying abroad? You’re going to need a passport! On Thursday, September 15th, 2016, passport agents from the Philadelphia Passport Agency will be on campus from 1pm-4pm to process passport applications for first time passport applicants. Space is limited and appointments are required. **RSVP required. Vira I. Heinz Scholarship Reception. Are you a female student considering summer study abroad who has never traveled overseas? Are you also interested in leadership skill development and community service? Then the Vira I. Heinz Scholarship and Program for Women in Global Leadership might be for you! Each year Temple University is granted three scholarships in the amount of $5,000+ from the Vira I. Heinz Foundation. The scholarship must be used toward a summer study abroad program after your sophomore or junior year. If you meet the eligibility requirements below, please plan on attending to learn more about this exciting opportunity.
