Ready, Set, Walk! This week you should have received your information packet for the Walk-A-Thon. The Walk-A-Thon is our most important fundraiser of the year! The funds from the Walk-A-Thon provide for our PTO sponsored STEM Program, Literacy Program, Family Days, Cultural Enrichment, and so much more! Our Goal for this years WAT is $30,000!! We truly hope to make this years Walk-A-Thon the best ever! Over

Volunteer Opportunities
Our PTO runs on volunteers! Everything from a 30 min shift during an event to a committee chair. Please consider one of these immediate volunteer opportunities:
On-Going
Helpers are need during Kindergarten Lunch to help open yogurt, milks, and provide that all forgotten fork. Lunch is served from 11:20 - 11:50 am.

Homecoming Mark your calendar for Homecoming 2016 - September 29, 2016. The parades theme is The Olympics and SSES will be having a float this year. We are looking for volunteers to help decorate the float. Please contact [email protected] for more details!
Box Tops & Soup Labels - CONTEST TIME!!! Our first BoxTop & Campbell’s Soup Label contest is now under way! Your deadline to have your BoxTops & Soup Labels into your child(s) teacher is October 15, 2016. Please be sure to cut your BoxTops to size and throw out any expired! The BoxTop must show the expiration date. The soup Labels must be cut to the size of the Barcode & The Campbell’s Logo. The winning class will receive an ice cream party!!!

Before School Enrichment Enrollment Instructions
• Review the course catalog. Be sure to note the dates and grades each class is offered for. This is for the first session only, September 12 - October 7, 2016.
• Once you have decided what class(es) work best for your schedule, please email [email protected] with the your students name(s), grade(s), teacher(s) name, and class(es) you would like to enroll your student(s) into. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT FIRST STEP, since classes are filled on a first come, first serve basis; this will hold your child(ren)s place until payment is received.
• Pay for the class(es) that you have chosen. • Once you receive an email confirmation that your enrollment has
been received and that there is room in the class:• If paying online, go to the PTO website and pay via Paypal.
Please forward a copy of your confirmation of payment to [email protected] so that we can match your payment to the enrollment email that you have ALREADY sent. Be sure to include your students name. This will help keep our accounting straight!
• If paying by check, please print off a copy of your enrollment confirmation email and send in a copy with your check made payable to “SSES PTO”, through the parent-teacher communication folder.
• Waitlist - A waitlist will be created via the enrollment email. If payment is not received by September 7th, then we release your spot(s) and the next inline on the waitlist will be contacted.
ALL PAYMENTS / CONFIRMATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2016.

MUTANT BOOKS ART JOURNALING CLASS 3-4 TUESDAYS $60
Want to learn how to make art everywhere? Join Mrs. Belu-Henss in the art room for Mutant Books and learn the recipes to create your own art journal. In Mutant Books class you will learn how to create your own hard bound art journal and in it express yourself creatively and individually through different media: painting, stamping, photography, printing, paper cuts, collage techniques and more. Even after class ends you will continue to create and complete your Mutant Book Art Journal (MIN 10/MAX 18)
SCRAPBOOKING FOR BEGINNERS! K-4 FRIDAYS $75
Ever wanted to learn how to make awesome scrapbooks to host all of your photos and memories? Join Mrs. Palmer in this scrapbooking for beginners class! This class is being offered by SSES Staff Rebecca Palmer. (MIN 1/MAX 20)
NOTHING BOARD ABOUT THESE GAMES K-4 WEDNESDAY $30
Board games are more than just a game, they are learning how to read, count, social skills, and so much more! Join SSES parent Sherry Shuler for a fun game of Clue Jr, Monopoly, Uno and so much more! (MIN 4/MAX 30)

MIGHTY SUPERHEROS IN CLAY K-4 MONDAYS $85
Create your own super hero comic strip, picture for your room, and magnets to use! Every child will create a bowl on the wheel. All projects will be fired and delivered. This class if offered by Jeremy South. (MIN 8/MAX 15)
DAZZLING GLASS FUSION K-4 THURSDAYS $85
Create your own turtle, fish, bird, and creature all from glass! Hang some and use others as magnets. All supplies included. This class if offered by Jeremy South. (MIN 8/MAX 15)
CHESS CLASS K-4 THURSDAYS $45
Do your kids wish to learn chess? Are they already pretty good? This class is great for all levels and is taught in a kid fun and friendly way by The Learning Through Games Group. Learn strategy and improve decision making all why having fun! Taught by Aaron Dean, Head Teacher at Learning Through Games (MIN 8/MAX – NONE)
VOLLEYBALL K-4 WEDNESDAYS $50
Let's learn the game of volleyball!! Learn proper techniques to serve, pass, set & spike the volleyball. Fun drills and team building lessons will give your little player the energy they need to get through the school day. This class is offered by SSES parent, Coral Terpening. (Min 6/Max 12)
SHOPKINS ON CANVAS K-4 WEDNESDAYS $80
Who loves Shopkins? We do!! Join Miss Kate Before School to paint a different Shopkin on canvas each week! We will work with acrylic paint to create our own Strawberry Kiss, Cupcake Queen, D’Lish Donut, and more! Every week your child will bring home a brand new, cute and colorful Shopkin canvas to build their own Shopkin gallery! This class offered by Kate Jones of Paint It! Kids. (MIN 6/MAX 18)

Wake up your mind and body with yoga movement and postures! When your child gets into asanas or postures of yoga, their concentration skills will automatically improve! LEGO ROBOTICS 2 TUESDAYS $50
Take your love of Legos to the next level! Join SSES Teacher Ms. Timme in Lego Robotics. You will start out with simple builds and work your way towards more complex builds (MIN 8/MAX 12)
GUITAR LESSONS 1-4 WEDNESDAYS $180
Do you have a guitar gathering dust? Brush it off and join Mark Avery for guitar lessons! Class includes instruction and music book. This class offered by Mark Avery. (MIN 3/MAX 10)
KICKBALL K-4 MONDAYS $35
Anyone can play --No experience needed! Come on out for fun and exercise! All you need is a positive attitude and some gym shoes! Class offered by SSES teacher, Mrs. Menzel. (MIN 6/MAX 18)
MATH GAMES 1-4 FRIDAYS $40
Help your child grow in their math skills through math games! Taught by SSES teacher, Mrs. Millspaugh. (MIN 1/MAX 15)
BASKETBALL 1-4 FRIDAYS $50
Ya Got Game?!? Join us on the court where you can hone in on your basketball skills by brushing up on the basics and learning how to master that jump shot! Taught by SSES parent, Mr. Millspaugh. (MIN 1/MAX 15)
