ABC’s OF ROTARY a

ROTARY COMMUNITY CORPS (RCC)

One of the programs in Rotary’s panoply of worldwide service activities and projects is the Rotary Community Corps. Formerly knows as Rotary Village Corps, this form of grassroots self-help service was initiated by R.I. Pres M.A.T. Caparas in 1986 as a means of improving the quality of life in villages, neighborhoods and communities. The program is built on the premise that there is frequently an abundance of available labor in an area but no process for mobilizing men and women to conduct useful projects of community improvement. A Rotary Community Corps is a Rotary Club-sponsored group of non-Rotarians who want to help their own community by conducting service projects. Rotarians provide professional expertise, guidance, encouragement, organizational structure and some of the materials assistance for the Rotary Community Corps, whose members contribute the manpower and knowledge of community needs to help their own community. Thus, the Rotary Community Corps is another way for Rotarians to serve in places of great need.

GOOD GOVERNOR  BOYET LIMON!

BEST OF MY LOVE

Every night I’m lying in bedHolding you close in my dreams

Thinking about all the things that we said

And coming apart at the seamsWe tried to talk it over, but the words

came out too roughI know you were trying to give me the

best of your love

Beautiful faces, without empty places, look at the way that we live

Wastin’ our time on cheap talk and wine, left us so little to give

That same old crowd was like a cold dark cloud

that we could never rise aboveBut here in my heart I give you the best

of my love …

(Chorus)Oh hoh hoh, sweet darling

You get the best of my love,(you get the best of my love)Oh hoh hoh, sweet darlingYou get the best of my love

(you get the best of my love)

BridgeI’m going back in time and it’s a sweet

dreamI was a quiet night and I would be alright if I could go on sleeping

till early mornBut every morning I wake up and worry what’s gonna happen today, You see it

your way and I see it mine, but we both see it slippin’ away

You know we always had each other, Baby

I guess that wasn’t enough Oh hoh hohBut here in my heart I give you the best

of my love

President’s Message By SVP Susan Ringol

Happy Birthday PP Wally! Thank you for sponsoring this lunch meeting. It’s been raining again last week so our Wednesday lunch meeting

was rescheduled to Friday, Sept. 11. As we have agreed, we had a short meeting and a quick lunch at McDonalds in El Pueblo, Ortigas Center, Pasig City and proceeded to the beneficiary school, Bagong Ilog Elem.School, also in Pasig City, for our Book Donation project. The school’s property custodian Ms. Verlita Ruiz received the books in behalf of the principal who had to attend an emergency meeting. There are about 1,521 students in this school who would benefit from the books we donated. I would like to thank Treas. Nilda, PP Sioni and PP Sessie who took time and joined me in this activity despite the rains. This afternoon we will proceed to Isaac Lopez Integrated School after our meeting for another Book Donation Project. I hope you could all join PP Sioni , PP Sessie & me. Last Saturday, Sept 12, we co-hosted the New Generations Conference and took care of the Registration together with the other assigned host clubs. Our club sponsored 7 participants including PP Sioni who herded our prospective Rotaractors. It was very successful with 623 participants who were attentive as well as participative. It was great and it was fun! This Saturday, Sept 19, we are invited to attend and send participants to the RCC Distas to be held in the Paranaque Gym. I am still coordinating with our prospective RCC members on this. PP Sioni and me will attend and we are inviting everyone to join us. In closing, let us continue to serve above self for” the Future of Rotary is in your Hands”. Viva Rotary!
