It was great to see everyone and we all noticed how much everyone has grown over the past

14 weeks!

We look forward to welcoming all of our students back into school as soon as we are able to,

FREE SCHOOL MEAL VOUCHERS

Parents/carers with children entitled to Free School Meals will receive the next vouchers the week beginning 29 June. Vouchers will be valued at £45 per eligible child. These vouchers will cover the period 29 June to 17 July.

The Government has agreed to fund Free School Meals for eligible children over the summer holidays. Vouchers to the value of £90 per eligible child will be issued shortly after 17 July which will cover the whole of the six week holiday period.

No further vouchers will be issued after these as it is anticipated that the school will be fully open in September.

Computing Fact of the week!

Konrad Zuse, an early computer pioneer, was born in 1910, in Germany. In the 1940s he began work on Plankalkul (plan Calculus), the first algorithmic programming language. Seven years earlier, Zuse developed and built the world's first binary digital computing device, the Z1. He completed the first fully functional program-controlled (by a punched paper tape) electromechanical digital computer, the Z3, in 1941. Only the Z4, the most sophisticated of his creations, survived World War II.

Here is this week’s GEOGGLEBOX!

There are some amazing TV shows on at the moment that have a geographical theme. Some have already aired, but if you have access to a smart TV or iPlayer, you can also watch them online anytime.

THIS is an easy way to brush up your current affairs or learn a little more about the world around us...

GLOBAL DISNEY CHALLENGE!

The geography department invites year 7 and 8 to join the ‘Global Disney’ challenge!

This involves you researching where a number of Disney films were set throughout the world and plotting these locations on a map. Once you have completed your map, we challenge you to select one location and explore the human and physical geography of that country and explain why it was a good location for the films storyline.

Additional information, including the Disney films and the worksheets will be emailed to you.
