SACRAMENTS AND CATECHESIS

ST. CLARE FAITH FORMATION PROGRAM – 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR Pope Francis declared this year the Year of St. Joseph, patron saint of families and our Universal Church. Just as how Jesus was the center of Joseph and Mary’s family life, we are invited to re-center Jesus Christ in our families. Bearing this in mind, we are excited to announce we will be offering a Family Catechesis Program for the 2021-2022 school year. With this program, our hope is to initiate families into lifelong faith formation centered on the life of Christ and lived in the parish community – embracing evangelization, discipleship, stewardship, and promoting the dignity of life. Family Catechesis

• Each month, families will have the choice to attend one of three different in-person sessions. • Families will also be provided with resources to nurture their faith in their homes – the domestic Church. • This program is designed for families with children attending Kindergarten to 5th grade, but youth of all ages are welcome to attend. • Our program offers classes for non-baptized children and youth. • Our program also offers an adapted faith formation. First Reconciliation & Holy Communion

• Sacrament Preparation is a two-year program. • Children enrolling into the second year of First Reconciliation & Holy Communion must have completed Year One of Holy Communion Preparation. • Families with children going into the second year of First Reconciliation & Holy Communion Preparation will attend an additional monthly gathering focused on the importance and reception of the Sacraments. Con irmation

• Con irmation Preparation is a two-year Program. • Families may enroll their children into Con irmation Year One as early as 8th Grade or later. • Families may enroll their children into Con irmation Year Two as early as 9th Grade or later. • Youth enrolling into Con irmation Year Two must have completed Con irmation Year One. • Both years in Con irmation will include involvement in Youth Ministry. Registration

• Faith Formation registration forms can be submitted online or in-person at the of ice during regular business hours. Please remember that the of ice is closed on Wednesdays. • A copy of the baptismal certi icate will be required for children and youth attending sacramental preparation unless child was baptized at St. Clare. • Families will need to be registered with our Parish. More detailed information is available on the parish website. • For Kindergarten - 5th Grade-related questions, please contact Agnes Soria at (916) 772-4717 Ext. 113 or via email at [email protected]. • For 6th - 12th Grade-related questions, please contact Brianne Dela Cruz at (916) 772-4717 Ext. 118 or via email at [email protected].
