In case you were gone last weekend, I want to run this article again to keep you updated...

Good News!

There are so many signs of the Holy Spirit’s Presence and activity here at St. Clare. From the children’s choirs singing at Mass to our Seniors promoting fellowship with hilarious ‘horse races’ to our school’s many successes, there is much to celebrate! But we also have several exciting new possibilities and dreams that we want to share with you.

I will be leading a dialogue for all parishioners at a

“Town Hall” Gathering in Fellowship Hall Thursday, March 15 at 7:00 PM

At this gathering, I will be sharing really good news and seeking your input regarding three major topics:

♦ Young Adult Initiative St. Clare was selected for a generous grant!

♦ Diocesan Partnership with St. Nicholas Parish Updates and Plans

♦ A very much needed new Parish Office Building

Please join us for this important parish night of good news and open dialogue about these three topics! Together let us keep praying for the Holy Spirit to guide us toward becoming the best possible parish in service of God and His Kingdom.

God’s Peace be with you, Fr. Jim Deiters

I was born into a Catholic family, but it was not until the eighth grade, after I had received Confirmation, that the faith came alive for me… when (the) idea of priesthood first crossed my mind. During sophomore (year) at Franciscan University…I began a four-year wrestling match with God about my vocation. The moment of clarity came in prayer during a silent retreat. How could I resist it any longer? Steven DiMassimo, seminar ian, Diocese Raleigh; Columbia Feb. 2018

Every Lent the Church throughout the world cele-brates the Scru nies to help the Elect prepare to be ini ated into the Catholic Church at Easter through Bap sm, Confirma on and the Eucharist.

These minor exorcisms help strengthen the Elect on their journey as well as reveal to them the areas of their life that s ll need to be illumined by God’s grace. The Church asks the congrega on to par ci-pate in these Scru nies as well through our prayer and support. They also serve as moments for us to examine our own lives.

In prepara on for the Scru ny on Sunday, March 18 at the 8:30 a.m. Mass, you are encouraged to reflect on the following ques ons: ♦ Who in your life calls you to be your best self? ♦ What holds you bound and keeps you from living

in true freedom and holiness? ♦ Have you ever felt ashamed of your past or im-

prisoned by your circumstances? ♦ Is there an aspect of your life that must die so

that you may rise with Christ? ♦ How is Christ calling yu forth to live in newness

of life?

A Special Opportunity for Men Men’s Welcome Weekend April 28—29 It’s an incredible experience that will help you discover

Could God Love Someone Like Me?

Fr. Mike Schmitz, one of the leading presenters in the Church today, speaks powerfully about the Sacrament of Reconciliation. He makes clear the truth that Christ deeply loves us and wants to encounter each of us as we are, with all our imperfections. Fr. Mike debunks the lies we often believe about not being good enough to approach Jesus, and he draws upon Scripture to explain rationally why we go to priests to en‐counter God’s mercy and forgiveness in Confes‐sion. A great talk to grow closer to Jesus this Lent! Look for this and other great NEW CDs and Books on our Kiosk in the Gathering Space or go to stclarechurch.org and click on Lighthouse Catholic Media under the FORMATION tab. Also check out CD Talks and eBooks on FORMED.org.
