Join Us For RCIA Adult Faith Formation RCIA - Faith Formation for Adults especially those considering becoming Catholic or completing their Sacraments in preparation for the Sacrament of Marriage, or to learn more about your faith. The class will be on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. in the School, Doolan Center. Please come to the parish office to fill out the registration form. Everyone is welcome!

Thursdays Bible Study 9:30 a.m. Bible Study in the small Chapel (of the Church) 7:30 p.m. Bible Study - are on break and will start again with the Book of Revelation on September 14.

Friends & Fellowship The next free meal will be this Sunday, September 10, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. El Movimiento Familiar Cristiano will prepare the meal. This meal is for anyone in our area who needs a free meal or just some company and fellowship. Thanks to all our parish groups who help us in this good cause, including the committee members.

Blue Mass On Monday, September 11, at 9:00 am., St. Edward School and St. Edward Church will be celebrating its annual “Blue Mass.” We honor at this Mass those firefighters, police officers, and other civil servants both in our country and our community who have given their lives in the line of duty.

Festa de Na. Senhora de Fatima Sunday, September 24, at 12:45 p.m.

Procession from Portuguese Center to the Church, Mass followed by procession & gathering at the parish hall where lunch will be served. All are invited.

Upcoming Events at St. Edward Parish

The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Everyone is invited to celebrate the Blessed Mother’s Birthday on Friday, September 8th at the 7:30 p.m. Mass in our Parish.

Hospitality Sunday Please join us on Sunday, September 10, after the 7:15, 8:30, and 10:00 a.m. Masses. Free coffee and donuts in the parish hall. Meet your fellow parishioners. Thank you to our Hospitality Committee for all their nice work and the Men’s Club who donates the donuts every month.

Reflection on Happiness We will have a reflection on Happiness every Tuesday morning after the 9:00 a.m. Mass in the Parish Hall starting September 12th until October 24th. The weekly video presentations will focus on “The Four Levels of Happiness” by Fr. Robert J. Spitzer, S.J., PhD. This proven paradigm deals with happiness, love, and suffering. Everyone is invited! Coffee and refreshments will be provided!

Rosary Rally In celebration of Our Lady of the Rosary we will have a Rosary Rally on Saturday, October 7th. We will begin with Mass at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Rosary Procession outside and around the Church. Then we will join in the parish hall for a potluck reception and fellowship.

Golden Gate Boys Choir and Bellringers Fall 2017 Program

The Golden Gate Boys Choir and Bellringers celebrates 30 years of music making and voice training for bay area youth! Fall membership is open for new boy singers ages 6 to 12 with unchanged voices. No experience necessary. ESCUELA DE PASTORAL El mes de agosto para la Escuela de Pastoral es el "mes de la pesca". Te invitamos a integrarte a este Instituto de Formación para Laicos. ¿Qué es la Escuela de Pastoral? El Instituto de Formación para Laicos al Servicio de la Pastoral Parroquial es una Institución de enseñanza religiosa católica, que cuenta con la aprobación de la Jerarquía, y que funciona asesorada por ella y asistida por los párrocos y capellanes, en representación del Obispo en cada Diócesis. ¿Por qué debo YO entrar a Escuela de Pastoral? Primero que nada porque tú lo necesitas a Él. ¿Has sentido ese vacío en tu vida que por más que tengas lujos, carros, un buen trabajo, una excelente pareja y una vida “feliz”… nada más no puedes llenar? Déjame decirte que ese hueco se llena con Dios. Ven, a la Escuela de Pastoral fortalecer tu relación con Dios. La Escuela de Pastoral nos forma para colaborar como miembros enterados y activos de la comunidad parroquial, para que cuando el párroco te llame a integrarse en el Consejo parroquial, seas miembro eficiente en la realización de la Pastoral Parroquial. ¿Quién puede entrar a la Escuela de Pastoral? Todos los católicos (y los no católicos que quieran enterarse de nuestra religión) sin distinción de sexo, a partir de los 18 años normalmente y sin límite de edad máxima. Si tienes menos de 18 años, pero en verdad estás interesado en entrar a EP para conocer a Jesús y amarlo desde chiquito… ¡No te preocupes! Invita a tu Papá o Mamá que participen en la clases también. ¿Cuándo me puedo inscribir?¿Cuándo comienza? Si ya te animaste a entrarle, puedes buscarnos después de Misa todos los sábados del mes de Agosto. Estaremos repartiendo volantes al salir de Misa.
