They have been beautifully behaved and its a great way for St Faiths to show our appreciation to the many parents who are doctors, police, border guards, food distributors etc for their brave and sterling work in the face of adversity. May I also thank the many Key Workers who have managed to look after their own children by working shifts and swapping their child minding duties, this has helped to maintain a safe environment for all in school by keeping the numbers low. Friends Hello to you all from The Friends of St Faiths We are very much working to maintain our focus on providing those little extras to keep our wonderful school flourishing. This week we have purchased a now hose system which Mr Clark has installed to ensure that there is a water supply at all times in the Nature garden. The pond will be full throughout the summer, much to the delight of Nigel the Newt! A huge thanks must go out to Ali Giles and Zoe Wood who have donated some wonderful strawberry, tomato and bedding plants and seeds to the garden which we will look after until our green fingered helpers return. We also have a large box of new reading books waiting for the children to enjoy when they return. We miss you all! Vicky, Alison & Zoe Please contact Vicky, via email Victoria.Crocker@stfaithsprep.com Hop to it! We thought you may like an update on the pet rabbits, who are being lovingly cared for by the Amos family. It seems both rabbits adore dandelion leaves and flowers which gives Benji a purpose to his daily walk. Lily and Raffi have a larger run now which they are making good use of running laps at lightning speed. Benji has also become an expert at cleaning the rabbit hutch which the rabbits love to watch, particularly Lily. Nature Garden update Key Worker children proudly display our new 300m hose that Friends have bought to run from the school to the Nature Garden. This will now enable us to regularly top up the pond, water the flower pots, boarders and vegetable patch (beans, strawberries, raspberries and rhubarb are cultivating nicely at the moment). Mrs Smith hopes to get to the Nature Garden to sow new seeds to impress you all on your return. Last year she cultivated some pasture seeds which produced a most beautiful display next to the straw house and some of these plants have already reproduced again this year. We must have had the driest March on record here, consequently the water evaporated in the pond lowering the water to a life threatening level for the fish and pondlife. Many thanks to the Coombes family, over the wall, who came to our rescue and allowed us to tap into their water supply to fill the pond up giving us, and the fish, breathing space until our new hose arrived.

St Faithian Summer Term: w/e 1 May 2020

Head’s Corner

May I say how privileged I am to have looked after Key Workers’ children over the last month. They have been beautifully behaved and it’s a great way for St Faith’s to show our appreciation to the many parents who are doctors, police, border guards, food distributors etc for their brave and sterling work in the face of adversity.

May I also thank the many Key Workers who have managed to look after their own children by working shifts and swapping their child minding duties, this has helped to maintain a safe environment for all in school by keeping the numbers low.
