Gospel
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came to be through him, and without him nothing came to be. What came to be through him was life, and this life was the light of the human race; the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. A man named John was sent from God. He came for testimony, to testify to the light, so that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but came to testify to the light. The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world came to be through him, but the world did not know him. He came to what was his own, but his own people did not accept him.
But to those who did accept him he gave power to become children of God, to those who believe in his name, who were born not by natural generation nor by human choice nor by a man’s decision but of God. And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, and we saw his glory, the glory as of the Father’s only Son, full of grace and truth. John testified to him and cried out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, ‘The one who is coming after me ranks ahead of me because he existed before me.’” From his fullness we have all received, grace in place of grace, because while the law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. The only Son, God, who is at the Father’s side, has revealed him.
1. How is your relationship with Christ, God who became Man, became Flesh, who came to us in His human nature? Do you feel closer today than before?
2. When you look at the flame of a Christmas candle, can you feel the warmth of God? Can you see the Light of Christ? Can you feel the energy of the Holy Spirit?
New Year’s
Mass Schedule December 31st -
New Year’s Eve Daily Mass: 8 AM
New Year’s Eve Mass: 4 PM
January 1st -
New Year’s - Mary, the Holy Mother Of God
Masses: 8 AM, 10 AM, & 12 NOON
(Note the addition of the 12 NOON Mass)
3. In what ways does the birth of Christ bring you Comfort? What does the birth of Christ reveal to you about God? How blessed we are that Our Blessed Mother, the mother of Jesus, placed Him in a manger, a place where the shepherds place the nourishing food for their flocks. For at that time, we were given the Body of Christ, who was placed in the manger to nourish us, the flock (people) of God.

On Saturday, December 3, 2016, The Hospitality Ministry of St. Mark’s hosted a Christmas Party for the children of the Ocala Forest at Sandy Acres Baptist Church, Umatilla, FL. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Knights of Columbus, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Women’s Guild, the Men’s Guild, the K of C Ladies’ Auxiliary and Fr. Sebastian for their generous support and contributions. Along with lunch, a stuffed animal, a Christmas stocking and a gift of a toy, Tom Rueck and his fellow Knights presented the children with their coats. This was a day that these children, who have nothing, will remember for a long time. A special “Thank You” to Joanne Boyle, Helen DeVito, Francine DiScala, Mary Domanski, Carmen Guerrette, Eileen Harburger, Maureen Monda, and Judy Perella. Without their contribution of time and talent, this day would have never happened. May God grant you special blessing for your unselfish acts of charity!!! With Great Affection,
Carol Simmons
Coordinator, Hospitality Ministry

Dear Parishioners and Friends,
As the Infant Savior looks up into the adoring eyes of His Mother and of St. Joseph, His heart is beating with love for them and for each of us as well. He desires only one thing in return - Love.
This Christmas and all through the New Year, let us offer love to Him through daily prayer and to all our sisters and brothers through faithful service.
You all will be remembered in our prayers throughout the Holy Season and the New year!
A Blessed and Happy Christmas!
