O render him glorious praise, alleluia.
Responsorial Psalm
R. Lord, you will show us the path of life.
Women: Preserve me, God, I take refuge in you.
I say to the Lord: ‘You are my God.’
O Lord, it is you who are my portion and cup;
it is you yourself who are my prize. R
Men: I will bless the Lord who gives me counsel,
who even at night directs my heart.
I keep the Lord ever in my sight:
since he is at my right hand, I shall stand firm. R
Women: And so my heart rejoices, my soul is glad;
Even my body shall rest in rest in safety.
For you will not leave my soul among the dead,
nor let your beloved know decay. R
Men: You will show me the path of life,
the fullness of joy in your presence,
at your right hand happiness for ever. R

Lord Jesus, make your word plain to us:
make our hearts burn with love when you speak.
Alleluia

The Parish Pastoral Councils of Page and Aranda met together last Wednesday night. Meeting together
regularly was requested by Archbishop Christopher when the delegation met with him earlier this
month. The focus of Wednesday's meeting was to prepare 3 or 4 pastoral reasons in support of
amalgamating the two parishes and 3 or 4 reasons not to amalgamate. The Archbishop told the delegation
that this is a necessary step under Canon Law. The Chairs of both PPCs will take these to a Council of
Priests meeting later in May.

St Matthews Parish Book Club: Are you interested in expanding your reading or sharing it with other
interested people? Then you might like to join the St Matthew's Parish Book Club!
A group of six parishioners came together in September 2015 for the first meeting of the Book Club. Since
then we have met each month (except January) to discuss a range of reading material. We have discovered
we all respond differently to the material, and this enriches our sharing.
If you would like to find out more about the Book Club please contact Megan Thompson on 6254 0524 or
Beth Gibson on 6254 5044/0412 846 020.

Christian Meditation takes place each Wednesday at 6pm in the parish of St Vincent’s Aranda. In an age of
rush and noise, it can be useful if we make time to be tranquil and quiet. "Be still and know that I am God”,
says the psalmist. In this prayer of silence called Christian Meditation, an ecumenical tradition revived by Fr
John Main (1926-82), we seek God who dwells within our own heart. It is the natural progression of our
prayer life towards a deeper experience of God. This group at St Vincent’s is one of more than 500 Christian
Meditation groups in Australia (and 25 in Canberra). Newcomers are most welcome. For details: contact
Suzanne (6251 6681) or Ana (0406 377 357).
