Children’s Spiritual Communion Prayer

The beautiful thing about a spiritual communion is that youdon’t have to make your First Holy Communion before youcan make a spiritual communion. And so what a spiritualcommunion is where we just invite Jesus into our hearts withsomething like a prayer like this: Lord Jesus, I love You, and I know You love me. Come to my

heart now. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, that You might be withme, that I may love You, because loving You is what will makeme a saint, and becoming a saint is what gets me into Heaven.Lord Jesus, help me love you. Come to me now. Amen

A Special Thank You to Hypothermia ShelterProgram Volunteers & Donors

Thanks to our generous donors and volunteers, St Mary ofSorrows Parish successfully completed our Hypothermia ShelterProgram week. We over-achieved on financial donations with$6,000 raised against expenses of only $2,800. Fr. Barkett willhelp decide how to allocate the remaining donated funds to carefor those in need. We also had a multitude of food donations (over350) from a large number of folks. And, we had many, manyclothing donations (2 vans full). We needed far fewer volunteers(about 40) than usual due to FACETS running the 24/7 shelter atTyson's. Christine Martinson, Food Chief, and Carolyn LaRosa,Non-Food Donations Manager, were the keys to our successfulweek, but all of you contributed meaningfully.
