and the Apostles Creed.

Using regular rosary beads, work your

prayers below.

On the standalone beads, pray:

"Eternal Father, I offer you the body,

blood, soul, and divinity of your dearly

beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in

atonement for our sins and those of the

whole world."

On the decade beads, pray:

"For the sake of his sorrowful Passion,

have mercy on us and on the whole

world."

At the end, pray the following three

Reflections on Divine Mercy Sunday

God made man in the image of Himself. There is something in man that is so valuable that God would become man, die, and resurrect so that he can attain eternal life. In exchange for our humanity, God gives His divinity, that we may be partakers of the Divine Na-ture. This is what the Fathers meant when they said, 'God became man that man might become God.' Even though man has sinned against God, God never forgot what He made, that is, good. He made man good. He never forgot this fact. He always remembers that, even though man sinned against Him. If God the Almighty, Who is infinitely greater than man, has mercy toward those who offend Him, should we not also have mercy to those who offend us? Whenever we feel greater than the oth-er, we must always remember the Incar-nation when God humbled Himself. We must also remember the agony of Jesus in the garden. Because of His agony, He was unrecognizable. This is why He had to tell the people, 'It is I you are looking for.' We have to ask ourselves this question, 'Would we have recog-nized Jesus' face?' Will we always rec-ognize Jesus' face? Will we recognize Jesus' face especially in others' faces? Will we see Him in our friends, neigh-bors, and even our enemies? Will we see Jesus' face when someone asks for our forgiveness? As the Catechism states: 'Love, like the Body of Christ, is indivisible; we cannot love the God we cannot see if we do not love the brother or sister we do see. In refusing to forgive our brothers and sisters, our hearts are closed and their hardness makes them impervious to the Father's merciful love....' (2840). We must therefore love and be merciful to others if we truly love God. If we have trouble forgiving someone, we must try to see Jesus in them. We have to pray, 'Lord Jesus, please show me yourself in others so that I can love you through them. From: BiblicalCatholic.com

Music Notes During the course of Jesus' revelations to Saint Faustina on the Divine Mercy He asked on numerous occasions that a

feast day be dedicated to the Divine Mercy and that this feast be celebrated on the Sunday after Easter. The liturgi-cal texts of that day, the 2nd Sunday of Easter, concern the institution of the Sacrament of Penance, the Tribunal of the Divine Mercy, and are thus already suited to the request of Our Lord. This Feast, which had already been granted to the nation of Poland and been cele-brated within Vatican City, was granted to the Universal Church by Pope John Paul II on the occasion of the canoniza-tion of Sr. Faustina on 30 April 2000. In a decree dated 23 May 2000, the Congre-gation for Divine Worship and the Dis-cipline of the Sacraments stated that "throughout the world the Second Sun-day of Easter will receive the name Di-vine Mercy Sunday, a perennial invita-tion to the Christian world to face, with confidence in divine benevolence, the difficulties and trials that mankind will experience in the years to come." These papal acts represent the highest en-dorsement that the Church can give to a private revelation, an act of papal infalli-bility proclaiming the certain sanctity of the mystic, and the granting of a univer-sal feast, as requested by Our Lord to St. Faustina. (Excerpted from EWTN.com) Please join us for Exposition, Worship and the Divine mercy Chaplet Sunday afternoon from 2:30-3:30 in the church! And in order that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is writ-ten, “Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles, and sing to your name. (Romans 15:9)

Keeping the Faith-

I have been given the great gift of working with a young family for the past year

through the Baby Closet. Their child was born extremely early and spent several months in the hospital because of the challenges of being born a micro preemie. The struggle this young family has dealt with in the past year has been insurmountable. Mom had to leave her job to care for the special needs of their child, and then dad lost his job due to cutbacks. But their gift of faith contin-ues to carry them through all of this. They are sure that God has not forgot-ten them through all of this. They ex-press to me on each of their visits how grateful they are to the people of St Pio who support the Baby Closet because that in turn helps them. They have a great faith that has brought them through all the ups and downs this past year has put before them. They are an inspiration to me on what faith in God is really all about. Have you allowed your faith to be inspi-ration to someone else?

Introducing the St. Pio Intercessory

Prayer Ministry

We would like to present to our parish community the St. Pio Intercessory Prayer Ministry. This will begin after all weekend Masses starting with April 7th and 8th, 2018. Come join us after Mass in the church and experience the Holy Spirit at work in this new minis-try!

Intercessory prayer is a prayer that pleads with God for your needs and the needs of others. Often the problems we face seem too big for us. No matter how much we try, we cannot solve them on our own.

It's times like these when we need to turn to the Lord in interces-sory prayers.

Welcome to St. Pio

Bible Study

The Bible and the Virgin Mary

Starting April 6, 2018, we will have another wonderful, informative Bible Study through the heart of Mary, Jesus’ Mother. We would like to give you the op-portunity to purchase a workbook for the study. It is a great tool. The cost of the workbook is $15.96. It can be purchased through the St. Paul Center of Biblical Theology at 1468 Parkview Cir, Steubenville, OH 43952 and the phone number for the center is 740-264-9535. You may also order from the web-site, stpaulcenter.com or if you need any further assistance you may call me, Roxanne Gronkiewicz, at 586-872-3085. I hope this information is helpful and I’m looking forward to our next encounter with the Holy Spirit through our Mother’s heart.
