READINGS FOR THE WEEK LECTURAS PARA LA SEMANA
Sunday: Dt 30:10-14; Ps 69:14, 17, 30-31, 33-34, 36,37; or 19:8-11; Col 1:15-20; Lk 10:25-37 The great commandment of love is not something “mysterious” or “remote.” Indeed, it is “very near” to us. Yet how difficult it is to fulfill, being neighbor to whomever is in need. But if we seek God, we must “go and do the same”, for we have been created in, for and through Christ. Monday: Ex 1:8-14, 22; Ps 124:1b-8; Mt 10:34 — 11:1 The Israelites in Egypt encounter oppression and genocide. Disciples may encounter alienation from, even rejection by, loved ones and friends. Tuesday: Ex 2:1-15a; Ps 69:3, 14, 30-31, 33-34; Mt 11:20-24 Rescued by God, Moses is called to deliver his own people. Jesus voices various maledictions on those who refuse to repent. Wednesday: Ex 3:1-6, 9-12; Ps 103:1b-4, 6-7; Mt 11:25-27 God calls Moses to lead his people out of Egypt. It is to the lowly and the humble that God is revealed. Thursday: Ex 3:13-20; Ps 105:1, 5, 8-9; 24-27; Mt 11:28-30 God reveals to Moses his special mission. Jesus, humble of heart, is our refreshment and rest. Friday: Ex 11:10 — 12:14; Ps 116:12-13, 15, 16bc, 17-18; Mt 12:1-8 The paschal meal, the Passover of the Lord, prefigures our sacrifice of thanksgiving done in memory of Jesus, Lord of the Sabbath. Saturday: Ex 12:37-42; Ps 136:1, 23-24, 10-15; Mt 12:14-21 The exodus from slavery takes place in haste, in a night of vigil for the Lord. The suffering servant seeks faith, not superficial enthusiasm. Sunday: Gn 18:1-10a; Ps 15:2-5; Col 1:24-28; Lk 10:38-42 Abraham, the just and upright man, graciously host three visitors. As Mary and Martha host Jesus, he speaks of only one thing as necessary for us who follow him: being open to receive the message and person of Jesus, and being receptive to “the mystery of Christ” as he comes to us through one another.

DID YOU KNOW
What constitutes a concern worth reporting? Parents have a responsibility to report concerns they have about another person’s behaviors or actions that could put their children — or any children — at risk. These concerns are anything that makes the parent uneasy or uncomfortable, or anything that a child reports made them feel uneasy or uncomfortable.
Some examples of seemingly little things that can be worth reporting include: A teacher covering her glass classroom door with artwork, eliminating the ability to see into the classroom from the hall; a youth ministry icebreaker activity, where teens have to pass a mint candy from person to person using only toothpicks in their mouth, despite the discomfort of some participants.
