Director’s LetterNot unlike the host of tonight’s performance, The Drowsy Chaperone has a very special place in my heart. I first saw this fun, funny musi-cal on Broadway a few years ago and immediately fell in love with the show. I hope that tonight you will fall in love as well. Musicals are arguably one the most popular forms of entertainment and I believe the reason for that is they help to take us away from our troubles, if only for a few hours. As your host for this evening will point out, a musical “takes you to another world…and gives you a little tune to carry with you in your head…for when you’re feeling blue…” In these days of stress and strife, conflict and sadness, a little fun escapism is what we all need and what Stage Right offers you tonight. I wish to thank Stage Right, my wonderful actors and hard working production team for mak-ing this such a joyous experience. I am so blessed to be surrounded by such talent! On With The Show! Cast and Crew BiographiesCast and Crew BiographiesMICHAEL W. HAYES (Man in Chair) has been appearing on the Crighton Stage since 1979 when he appeared in Grace Thompson’s production of Dracula. He is thrilled to once again “be on the boards” of the Crighton. Mi-chael has been an active participant both on and back stage as an Actor, Director, Board Member, Make-up Technician & in recent years, enjoyed decorating the Sets of many of the productions at The Owen. Michael has a BFA in Theatre & Speech from Stephen F. Austin University and was last seen on the Owen stage as Felix Unger in The Odd Couple.

CAROLYN CORSANO WONG (Mrs. Tottendale) is pleased to be returning to the Crighton stage in a production of one of her favorite musicals and is especially excited to be sharing the stage with her favorite leading man; her husband Steve. She has been behind the scenes for a few shows, producing, direct-ing, designing and running sound but feels most at home on the stage making people laugh. She has been seen previously as mul-tiple characters in The Carol Burnett Show, Louise in Always, Patsy Cline, and Eulalie Shinn in The Music Man, and many others. Carolyn is the Artistic Director and a founder of STAGE RIGHT. She dedicates her perfor-mance in this show to all the wonderful show folks she has worked with over the past 30+ years who are now singing and dancing be-fore the Lord in heaven and surely keeping a smile on His face.

STEVEN WONG (Underling) started in the-atre 39 years ago as a drapery “consultant” and was “convinced” to return onstage for The Music Man. He is generally seen behind the scenes as producer, lights engineer or stage manager. Steve is a founder of STAGE RIGHT and serves as the board’s treasurer. Love to family – Carolyn, Michael, and Harley.

ROBERT EVANS (Robert Martin) is a graduate of Sam Houston State University where he earned his BFA in Musical Theatre. Robert has been performing since 1994 and

has a great love for the theatre. Some of Rob-ert’s favorite roles have been Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls, Danny Zuko in Grease, Reg in The Full Monty, Pat Denning in 42nd Street, Caiaphas in Jesus Christ: Superstar, Senator Wingwoah in The Best Little Whore-house in Texas, and Jigger Craigin in Carou-sel; to name a few. Robert has also had the honor to attend Broadway Theatre Project in 2007. Currently, Robert teaches Theatre at Moorhead Jr. High while still taking the time to perform with local theatres on the side. He also loves to spend time with his beauti-ful wife, Kally, and daughters, Maeghan and Baylee.

JAMES HUNTER MCMAHON (George) is so excited to be here for his Crighton debut. Credits include White Christmas, Smokey Joes Café, Thanks for the Memories (Owen), School House Rock Live (MSYT Tour), Awakenings: A Cabaret (Aon Theat-rix), The Music Man, Working (KOHS). Graduating from Klein Oak High School in 2010, he focused all his time on Choir, The-ater, and Dance. “Performing is my life.” He would like to thank his entire family, group of friends especially Katy and Leighanne. Also, his boyfriend Stephen for dealing with his craziness through this time, and always sup-porting, and loving him no matter what. “I love you big foot. Peace, Love, and Equality.”

MICHAEL RAABE (Feldzieg) was hooked on acting since his first play in 1974! Since then, Michael has performed in school, col-lege and regional theatre as a singer, dancer (no, REALLY!) and actor. Community the-atre is still his first love, and he is thrilled to be a part of his 8th Stage Right production. Prior performances at the Crighton Theater include Christmas Belles, Vaudeville Returns to the Crighton Theater, No Time for Ser-geants, The Music Man, the world premiere of Mama Won’t Fly and the Carol Burnett Show. Recently he played the Creature in Country Playhouse’s production of Franken-stein, and numerous roles in Big Head Pro-ductions NSFW: The Work Plays at the Ob-

sidian Art Space. Other musical performances have been Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar, Tony in West Side Story, Roger Dubris in The Producers, and numerous musical and dra-matic roles. Comedy is his passion, though, and he looks forward to many laughs to come.

ELIZABETH GARRETT CURTIN (Kitty) is excited to be making her debut with Stage Right! Liz graduated from SHSU with a de-gree in Theatre Arts and moved to NYC to pursue her dream of becoming a Broadway Star. Soon after, her high school sweetheart proposed marriage and stole her away from the big city, but not before she had the chance to work in a few Off Broadway, regional and summer stock productions. Since then, Liz has performed in Musical Theatre in Houston and London and was thrilled to be the voice of “TickBird” in Disney Jr’s animated se-ries Tinga Tinga Tales. A few favorite roles are Maria in West Side Story, Guenevere in Camelot, Hedy LaRue in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and Cinder-ella in Into the Woods. 18 years later, Liz says that choosing the high school sweetheart over the great white way was definitely the right choice! Special thanks to hubby Mike and gorgeous sons Joe and Geoffrey for all their love and support!

PHILLIP SKOBLICK (Gangster #1) is a graduate of New Caney High School. He is a two time all-star UIL cast member and has been in Emperor’s New Clothes (Old Man), Her Senior Year (Customer), A Piece of My Heart (Male TV Announcer), Rumplestiltskin, and I Never Saw Another Butterfly (Honza Kosek). Phillip was seen on the Crighton stage in My Three Angels and The Music Man, and worked backstage on The Carol Burnett Show. Phillip has studied at the Kim Terry Acting Studio and recently appeared in the TV movie Charlatan where he played a car thief.

BOBBY MAURO (Gangster #2) is a senior at The Woodlands College Park High School and has been accepted to Stephen F. Austin’s School of Math and Science to major in Pe-troleum Geology. Bobby has been in several school productions yet this is his first for community theater. His performance history

includes roles as the Doctor and Karl in The Marriage of Bette and Boo, Professor Bhaer in Little Women, John Harper in Rivers and Ravines, Selsdon/Burglar in Noises Off and Jimmy Smith in Thoroughly Modern Millie. Bobby feels blessed to have the chance to per-form with everyone in the cast!

JONATHAN ROZAS (Aldolpho) has re-turned to the lighted stage after an eleven year hiatus to play a gullible, self-proclaimed la-dies’ man of low morals who later drinks him-self to death....ahh, typecasting.

LIBBY BRYANT (Janet Van De Graff) is new to Stage Right and she couldn’t be more excited! A senior at The Woodlands College Park High School, Libby hopes to pursue a degree in acting after she graduates. Her most recent roles include Miss Price in the Texas All-State’s production of Coram Boy and Jo in Little Women. This summer she’ll join her All-State cast in competing at the National Thespi-an Festival. Libby hopes you enjoy the show!

KIMBERLY BRYANT (The Drowsy Chap-erone) is proud to be back on the Crighton Theater stage, having last performed here as Lt. Jo Galloway in A Few Good Men. Other previous credits include Dirty Rotten Scoun-drels (Muriel), Annie Get Your Gun (Annie Oakley), Bye, Bye, Birdie (Rose), Company (Sarah), Guys and Dolls (Sarah Brown), and The Music Man (Marion). Kim is Director of Theatre for Magnolia West High School and holds an MA in Theatre from the University of Houston, where her studies allowed her to train with such groups as The Goodman The-atre of Chicago, The Royal Academy of Dra-matic Arts in London and Lincoln Center in New York.

CHRISTINA J. TAYLOR (Trix The Aviatrix &Vocal Coach) is excited to be working on the Crighton stage again. Past roles at the Crigh-ton include Maria Elena in The Buddy Holly Story, BJ in the 2007 production of Smokey Joe’s Cafe, Kate in Oklahoma and Ensemble of Big River. Other favorite roles include Liesl in The Sound of Music, Lily in The Secret Gar-den, Nell in Crossroads and Pipi in The Great American Trailer Park Musical. Favorite op-

era/operetta roles include Nedda in Pagliacci, Bridgette in A Brief History of Root Vegeta-bles, Edith in Pirates of Penzance. Ms. Taylor has performed around the world, most recently in the Yunan Opera Festival in Kunming, China where she played the role of Pamina in Mozart’s, Die Zauberflöte. She holds a Bach-elors Degree in Vocal Performance from The University of Texas at San Antonio, where she was a part of the Opera in the Schools program and performed for more than 60,000 elemen-tary school students as the Cat in Brundibar, and the Woodland Nymph in The Pied Piper of Hammelin. Ms. Taylor has also performed as a concert artist and holds many titles as a competitive singer. She is the recipient of the Herald Stark, Oscar J. Fox, Opera in the Schools, Fielder Grant and San Antonio Opera Guild Awards. Since returning to the area Ms. Taylor teaches voice lessons and performs and competes as frequently as possible.

JOHN MCDONALD (Superintendent/En-semble) is making his inaugural performance with Stage Right. He has been appearing on stage in Conroe for over 4 years. His favorite roles include D.W. in Smokey Joe’s Cafe, Stan-ley in Sanders Family Christmas and The Band Leader in Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. He has worked backstage in several shows includ-ing being the stage manager for The King and I. John has been the owner of a home remodel-ing company, McDonald Construction, for the past 30 years. John has been married for nearly 40 years and has a degree in journalism from the University of Houston.

MEAGHAN SCHULZ (Ensemble) is a grad-uate of the University of Alberta Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance program, and the Grant MacEwan University Theatre Arts program. Some of her previous roles include Marcellina in The Marriage of Figaro, Velma in West Side Story, Rosalia in West Side Sto-ry, Oolie/Donna in City of Angels, and Lady MacDuff in Nightshriek. She has performed with Calgary Opera Chorus, and has appeared in Cowtown Opera’s Cowtown Cabaret. Meaghan also enjoys performing with Double Treble women’s ensemble and Spiritus Cham-ber Choir, teaching voice, musical theatre, tap, jazz, ballet and Kindermusik, and being a wife and mom to three great kids.

CrewTRAVIS BRYANT (Director) is proud to be back at the Crighton Theater and part of this fabulous production. He is a local actor, director and producer who has directed pro-ductions of A Few Good Men; Annie Get Your Gun; Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Nunsense, for which he won Best Director and Best Show honors at the Montgomery County “Montie” awards. Acting credits include: Guys and Dolls (Nathan Detroit); Hello, Dolly! (Barn-aby); Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (Sher-riff Dodd); Julius Caesar (Brutus); Company (Harry); All My Sons (George Deever); Jesus Christ Superstar (Judas); Evita (Che) and Camelot (Arthur). He is very happy to being sharing this production with his wife Kim and his daughters Hilary, and Libby!

SARAH L. HASSELL (Production Stage Manager) was (willingly) pulled back into this crazy beautiful world of theatre after a 7 year hiatus by a chance encounter in the pro-duce aisle of HEB. A graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and minors in English and Communication Studies, Sarah typically found herself in spot-light as a performer. However, she has discov-ered that she truly loves the view from behind the curtain and couldn’t be more thrilled to be stage managing this production. Many thanks to Travis Bryant for inviting her to be part of the team, the wonderful cast and crew for their tireless efforts, and – most importantly – to Kevin, her “monkey”, for his continuous support…without his hugs, technical support, and fried egg sandwiches after rehearsals none of this would be possible.

KATIE KELLY (Assistant Stage Manager) Since beginning her “career” in the theater, Katie has had many experiences and met a lot of wonderful people. The prior parts she has played were in comedies, The Music Man, the world premiere of Mama Won’t Fly, and The Carol Burnett Show. The Miracle Worker was her first drama and the first time she costumed a show. Katie has enjoyed all aspects of the theater, onstage and backstage, building sets and helping with costumes. She is looking

forward to participating in more productions at this lovely theater.

CALEB ACKERMAN (Musical Director) is Caleb’s fifth production as musical direc-tor with STAGE RIGHT. Previous projects include Cinderella, The Music Man, Always...Patsy Cline, and The Carol Burnett Show. He is a featured performer at the Texas Renais-sance Festival and recurring music director at the Owen, most recently for White Christ-mas. An experienced piano instructor, he has a studio at Kindermusik of The Woodlands and shares his music ministry with the congrega-tions of Timber Ridge Presbyterian, Thomas Chapel United Methodist, and Tree of Life Christian Churches each Sunday!

HILARY BRYANT (Choreographer) is a graduate of Sam Houston State University’s Acting and Directing program, and has loved musical theatre her entire life. Favorite past roles include Ondine, Christine Colgate in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and Kim McAffee in Bye Bye Birdie. Past choreography credits include Annie Get Your Gun, The Boyfriend, and You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. She thanks the cast and her wonderful family for making this show an absolute joy to work on. REENA DE SANTO (Costumer) has a BA in Costume Design and Stage Management. She has been plying her craft as Stage Man-ager, Lighting Designer and Director at sev-eral community theaters around the Houston area. Her last big project was Director of The Miracle Worker. She enjoys “playing” at The Crighton because it is such a grand theater.

DENISE SCHMIDT DEBOLD (Prop Mis-tress & Scenic Artist) has a passion for the arts and serving her community. For four years, when in Florida, she volunteered as the Vi-sual Arts Director on a twelve member team that utilized a cast of over three hundred and provided the community with a theatrical experience for free. In June of 2009, Denise moved to Texas, and has since been featured in the Houston Chronicle for her art work and community service. She volunteers weekly for the Montgomery County Women’s Cen-ter (MCWC) at their Something Special store

in the Woodlands, where sales benefits more than 60 battered women and their children. She is also an active member of the Assis-tance League of Montgomery County where their multiple philanthropic programs such as “Always Ask”, provides poison awareness to pre-school and kindergarten children, and “Operation School Bell”, helps cloth children referred by counselors of the Montgomery County school district. She feels blessed to a part of Stage Right and their desire to reach their community through the art of theater.

PETER KELLY (Lights Engineer) lived and worked on Long Island, New York for over fifty years. While there, he took advantage of the Broadway theaters and also, frequently enjoyed community theater. Upon retiring to the Conroe, Texas area his wife Katie he became active in the Crighton Theatre. Peter appeared in the production of The Music Man along with Katie and has been a member of the stage crew of Mama Won’t Fly followed by running the lights for The Carol Burnett Show, Cinderella, The Miracle Worker and My Three Angels. Being active in the theatre allows Pe-ter & Katie to spend quality time together, do-ing something they both feel is productive and fun.

NICHOLAS MARSHALL (Sound Engi-neer) has been involved in community the-atre both on and off stage since first being introduced in 2008. He enjoys working with STAGE RIGHT and the Crighton Players as Sound Engineer. He recently married the love of his life on January 26th, 2013, and they cur-rently reside in Montgomery.

DENNIS O’CONNOR (Master Carpenter) is tickled pink to reignite his 32 year love affair with the Crighton stage after a 5 year hiatus in New York. He dedicates every smile, laugh and knee slap to his children Adam, Jonah, Denny and Emmy. Joseph in My Three An-gels, Pelinor in Jeanne Brasher’s 1990 produc-tion of Camelot, Kris Kringle in Miracle on 34th Street, Harry in Stalag 17, and Arnold in The Boys Next Door are his favorite roles on the Crighton stage. “I love to make the audi-ence smile,” says Dennis. “Please support the Crighton as your hometown theatre as well as

the Crighton Theatre Foundation and STAGE RIGHT. It ends in Joy.”

PENELOPE (PENNY) ANDROS (Vocal Coach) has worked at the Crighton on sev-eral occasions – as Choreographer (with her husband, Randy Bianchi) on Godspell, Jekyll & Hyde, Oklahoma and Smokey Joe’s, and as Vocal Coach on Jekyll & Hyde. She was the co-director for Teahouse Of The August Moon. Penny began tap dancing on television at age 3, and worked in community theater at age 5, when she performed in Sound of Music. She went on to perform in over 50 musicals (both amateur and professional) throughout

her career, including Hair! and Jesus Christ Superstar, both in National Touring Compa-nies. Penny also directed another 32 produc-tions (both adult and children) in Los Ange-les, San Diego, Santa Fe (New Mexico), and Houston. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a double major in Theatre Directing and Acting; and a minor in Music. Penny went on to study law at South-western University School of Law in Los An-geles, practiced entertainment law for many years, and produced several television shows for KingWorld. Penny Andros will direct Hairspray in Stage Right’s upcoming season.
