CULTUREDISTRICT Striver’s Arts & Culture District is the new central Harlem Arts &

Culture District located between West 134th Street and West 136thStreet from St. Nicholas Avenue to Malcolm X. Boulevard created tosupport and serve the special interests and needs of the upper manhattan cultural, artistic and educational communities.

This iniative is being done in partnership with the Harlem Arts Alliance(HAA), The Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce (GHCC), supportedby Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone (UMEZ) and the Harlem Community Developent Corporation (HCDC) to create a targeted residential/retail/commercial Arts, Culture & Educational District in theheart of Community Board 10.

Harlem Arts Alliance’s objective, in partnership with The Greater HarlemChamber of Commerce, is to reserve affordable studios, one and twobedroom apartments that would be earmarked in the main for the abovecommunities.

HAA also will collaborate with UMEZ and HCDC to identify affordablecommercial, retail, and professional spaces to support the Striver’sArts, Culture and Educational Zone initiatives.
