Matt Balis, Mississippi State University,Director of Strength and ConditioningMA, SCCC, CSCS (Northern Illinois University ‘96)Matt Balis is the Director of Strength and Conditioning atMississippi State University. He is in charge of all aspects of theFootball Strength and Conditioning Program as well as overseeingthe entire MSU Athletic Strength and Conditioning Program. Baliscomes to Starkville from the University of Virginia, where heserved for two years as the Head Strength and ConditioningCoach for the Cavaliers Football Program. Prior to his stint inCharlottesville, Balis previously served as the Assistant Director ofStrength and Conditioning at the University of Florida in 2005 and2006. Before joining the staff at Florida, Balis worked at TheUniversity of Utah for two years as the Director of Strength andConditioning for the entire 16-sport program in 2004. Prior to hisstint at Utah, Balis was an Assistant Strength Coach at theUniversity of Houston for two years.

From HWY 182: Turn onto George Perry Blvd. heading towardscampus, then take an immediate right onto Lakeview Drive for 1/10 ofa mile and the Holliman Center will be on the right next to the track.

Scott Bennett, Univ. of Southern Mississippi, Head Strength & Conditioning CoachScott Bennett is currently in his third year as the Head Strength and ConditioningCoach for the Golden Eagle Football team as well as overseeing the entire16-sport athletic program. Bennett came to Southern Miss after serving as theHead Strength and Conditioning Coach at Wyoming since 1998. Prior toWyoming, Bennett was the Head Strength Coach at Marshall from 1996-1998.

Joe Gray, Mississippi State University, Physical TherapistJoe is currently employed as a physical therapist at Mississippi State University'sLongest Student Health Center and also provides physical therapy services for theMSU Athletic Department. Before coming to MSU in January 2009, he wasemployed by North Mississippi Health Services as a PT and ATC for 4 1/2 years.

Dick Hartzell, Jump Stretch Inc., Inventor of the Flex Band, Strength CoachDick Hartzell is known as the “Rubberband Man” and invented the flex bandexercise equipment and founded his company Jump Stretch Inc. in 1980. Hartzellhas also worked with numerous collegiate and professional teams from aroundthe world.

Scott Kellar, Xcel Performance, Director of PerformanceScott is currently the Director of Performance at Xcel Performance in Houston,TX. Before entering the private sector, Kellar was a collegiate head strength coachfor 18 years with stops at the College of DuPage, Western Kentucky, BowlingGreen, and the University of Houston.

Ron McKeefery, Univ. of South Florida, Head Strength & Conditioning CoachMcKeefery is entering his 10th Season as Head Strength Coach for the Universityof South Florida. At South Florida, McKeefery is the Head Football StrengthCoach as well as overseeing the entire South Florida Athletic Strength andConditioning Program. He previously worked as a part-time assistant for twoyears with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Rob Skinner, University of Virginia, Director of Sports NutritionRob Skinner has been the Director of Sports Nutrition at the University of Virginiafor the past three seasons. Prior to coming to Virginia, Skinner spent ten yearsworking with student-athletes at Georgia Tech and became the nutritionconsultant for the NFL Atlanta Falcons in the spring of 2007. Skinner is aregistered dietitian with the American Dietetic Association (ADA).

Allen Thompson, Mississippi State University, Assistant Athletic TrainerAllen Thompson is in his third year as an athletic trainer for Mississippi StateUniversity. Prior to coming to Starkville, Thompson served five seasons as anathletic trainer in the St. Louis Cardinals Organization, his last three as the headathletic trainer for the Palm Beach (Fla.) Cardinals in the Florida State League,where he also served as the club’s supervisor of strength and conditioning.
