CAMP INFORMATIONWELCOME TO SUMMER CAMP! The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago Summer Camps provide children with summer adventures that promote a healthy spirit, mind and body. Children spend time indoors and outdoors as experienced staff lead campers in a wide variety of activities each day, including arts and crafts, games, skits and songs, sports, recreational swimming, and weekly off-site field trips.

At the Irving Park YMCA, we strive for the highest quality programming and the best experience for your children. We focus on character development and implement our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all that we do. IPY follows an education based curriculum throughout all 12 weeks of programming with a focus on skill development, reading, and creative learning. In addition, the YMCA continues to incorporate its healthy kids' curriculum into its summer camp programs.

Children participate in weekly interactive workshops with doctors, dentists, nutritionists and athletes to gain basic knowledge on how to incorporate proper nutrition, exercise and positive self -images into their everyday lives.

At the YMCA, our summer camps are ACA accredited, which means that we maintain the highest standards regarding program quality. We believe the most important elements of a positive summer camp experience are the safety and well-being of your child.

2015 YMCA Summer Overnight Camp

FUN & ADVENTURE START HERELooking for an overnight, resident camp experience for your child or your family this summer? The YMCA of Metro Chicago has four resident camp options in beautiful pristine areas sure to provide special memories to last a lifetime.

YMCA Camp DuncanSince 1921, Camp Duncan has provided safe, quality camping programs for boys and girls ages 7 to 15 and Teen Adventure Camps for 15 to 17 year olds. All activities are geared to the developmental level of the campers. Camp Duncan is a co-ed, summer resident camp located near Fox Lake, Illinois, on 300 acres.

YMCA Camp MacLeanCamp MacLean is located just two miles east of Burlington, Wisconsin, just 20 minutes from Lake Geneva, on 247 acres of woods and grassland property. The camp offers fun and challenging activities such as swimming, climbing, boating, kayaking, archery, hiking, and much more. We also leave room for plenty of traditional programs, including sing-alongs, campfires and campouts.

YMCA Camp PinewoodTraditional but up-to-date, Camp Pinewood features 16 cabins on a private, spring-fed lake, with every activity from sailing to horseback riding. The camp is nestled in the heart of the Manistee National Forest near Muskegon, Michigan. It’s convenient but remote enough to ensure that everyone enjoys the natural beauty of the camp’s 200-acre facility.

YMCA Family Camp NawakwaFamily Camp Nawakwa offers a unique experience- an opportunity to bring together whole families, not just children, through camping. The camp sits on 180 acres of pristine forest lands, and includes wetlands and lakes with abundant wildlife. The camp is nestled in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin, which is home to the Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.

YMCA Camp IndependenceCamp Independence is a special place for campers age seven and up with spina bifida. At camp, kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group. We teach self-reliance, a love for nature, and the development of attitudes and practices that build character. Our counselors are dedicated to making sure camp is an amazing experience for every camper.
