Parent/Child Swim LessonsParent/Child Shrimp, Kipper, Inia, & Perch Levels. This YMCA program provides the highest quality of early water experiences for children age 6 -36 months. Four levels of progression will see your child through water adjustment and onto basic skills. Program instruction is directed toward helping you work with your child. Each child is always accompanied by one parent. Classes maybe combined based on enrollment.

Level 1: Pike With Parent Is your child just not ready to be alone for swim lessons? This is a transitional class in which we will wean your child away from mom and dad. The next level from here would be Pike.

Preschool SportsLittle Athletes This is an introductory class to a variety of sports for the little athletes ages 3-5.

Little Ninjas Give your child a head start by enrolling in this class where participants learn basic martial art skills, develop coordination, and balance.

Gymnastics Super Tot This is a great introductory class for those tiny tots who are ready to tumble and build their gymnastic skills on their own but aren't quite ready for the beginner level class.

Preschool Swim Lessons- IntensiveLevel 1: Pike-2 Week The first level of lessons is for beginning swimmers. Swimmers should be able to listen to instructions and follow directions. Swimmers will learn the basic paddle stroke on the front, back and sides. They will also be taught kicking skills and putting their face in the water. This class will run three times a week for two weeks.

Level 2: Eel-2 Week Swimmers will learn to jump in without assistance, float on their front and back for 20 seconds with or without an IFD. Swimmers will also learn to paddle on front, back and side for 25 yards with an IFD and 15 feet without. This class will run three times a week for two weeks.

Prerequisites: To enter this level, swimmers should be able to jump in without assistance, float on their front and back for 20 seconds with or without an IFD. Swimmers should also paddle on front, back and side for 25 yards with an IFD and 15 feet without.

Level 4: Starfish - In this class swimmers will learn to do a standing dive; basic front crawl rotary breathing 25 yards; basic breaststroke 25 yards; backstroke 25 yards; elementary backstroke 25 yards; basic sidestroke 25 yards; and tread water 1 minute. Prerequisites: To enter this level, swimmers should be able to front and back float 30 seconds without an IFD; front alternating paddle with rhythmic breathing 25 yards with an IFD, and 20 feet without. Swimmers also need to be able to front symmetrical paddle with rhythmic breathing 25 yards with an IFD, and 20 feet without; do a side alternating paddle for 25 yards with an IFD and 20 feet without; back alternating paddle for 25 yards with an IFD and 20 feet without; and back symmetrical paddle for 25 yards with an IFD and 20 feet without.
