Isuzu has proven itself for 100 years and with the number one Cab-forward truck since 1986 and over 20 million Diesel engines Worldwide, Isuzu RED Tech has become the next logical step to who we are in the marketplace. “We have always been known for Reliable, Eco-friendly, Durable, and Technologi-cally Advanced Diesel En-gines”, said John Dutch-er, Director of Sales and Marketing, Isuzu Motors America, LLC. “What we are doing now is pack-aging these benefits in a more memorable way for our Top-of-the-line Tier 4 Diesel Engines under Isu-zu RED Tech,” Dutcher continued.

From their proven man-ufacturing history begin-ning in 1916, Isuzu con-tinues to bring engineering solutions into the 21st Cen-tury for On and Off-road customers for today’s ap-plications.

Known for being reli-able, environmentally

friendly, durable, and technologically superior, Isuzu Diesel engines have performed in every en-vironment and customer application needed. Isuzu Diesel plans to continue this proven customer fo-cus by providing diesel engines for today and into the future.

Isuzu is reliable be-cause of their global lead-ership in manufacturing of high technology engines, trucks, and buses that are being used through-out the world. Resources dedicated to continuous improvements through thousands of employees who are disciplined in en-gineering, manufacturing, and management help en-sure the right products for customers.

From its beginning, Isuzu has always been concerned about the earth. Their Eco-friendly Isuzu Diesel engines have no DPF (Diesel Particu-late Filter) and therefore require no DPF mainte-

nance. These precision designed engines have fewer gaskets, which helps eliminate oil leaks that can cause pollu-tion. Isuzu engines are equipped with a Damper technology for low load environments and dual NOx sensors to begin meeting 2017 EPA man-dates. Isuzu engines are tested throughout their life cycle to help ensure Eco-friendly performance.

Isuzu Diesel Engines are built durable because of an optimized robust fuel injec-tion system with efficient distribution, including a precise cylinder-to-liner fit which enhances proper combustion and eliminates excessive oil consumption throughout the life of the engine.

Using advanced tech-nology, each application can be fine-tuned to meet customer-specific require-ments and are engineering validated to each environ-ment. Isuzu, together with engineering partners like Bosch, Denso, and Mahle – who provide specific technology – ensure fu-ture advancements to help eliminate downtime. b

Washington’s blizzard may have broken records, but conditions can plum-met some 40°C lower at the Siberian coal mine where six Terex Trucks rigid haulers are working 24/7 to help keep Russia warm. This is no place for weaklings. With tem-peratures dropping below -50°C in the winter, the conditions at the Apatsky open pit mine, 1,700 me-ters above sea level, are extremely punishing, not only for the workers, but for the equipment used there as well.

The mine is situated in the northern-most point of Zabaykalye Territory, in the Kalarsk region and is owned by Russia’s larg-est coal producer, SUEK. Coal power is one of the major sources of energy in Russia, which has among the largest coal reserves in the world, with this re-gion hosting of the coun-

try’s biggest discovery. SUEK, provides 41% of

Russia’s power industry demand for coal fuel and now produces 600,000 tonnes of coal annually at the Apsatsky mine.Toughing It Out Round The Clock

The six Terex Trucks TR 100 rigid haulers based at the mine operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, car-rying out up to 100 runs a day. Their robust design sets them apart as the only haulers on the market ca-pable of working efficiently in such extreme, unpredict-able conditions.

“The TR100s work round the clock and have proved to be a good choice to suit our operating condi-tions perfectly,” said Oleg Likhodumov, deputy direc-tor of the Apatsky open pit mine. “They are reliable and easy to maintain. For stripping areas and coal mining we also operate 38

tonne Terex Trucks articu-lated haulers, the TA400s.”

The cabin is equipped with safety guards for pro-tection on site, and feature air conditioning and heat-ing systems to ensure a comfortable and produc-tive operation in the ex-treme conditions.

The trucks have been in operation since 2012, after the construction of the ac-cess road to the mine. Even their journey to arrive at this remote location proved a logistical challenge. They were delivered to Siberia in Semi-knocked down (SKD) form via St Petersburg in order to comply with the Russian Railways regula-tions. Once on site, it took two days to assemble and commission each truck be-fore they were able to start providing their round the clock heavy-duty support.

Operator Maxim Shoizhalsanov, has driven Terex Trucks TR100s for

over three years. “The big advantage of this machine is its hydraulic brakes,” he said. “They ensure depend-able slowdown on steep slopes and are good on the ascents. A retarder in the gearbox is useful because it allows good slowdown on the descents.”

Service is carried out on site by Eurasia Machinery under a contract with the exclusive Russian Federa-tion Terex Trucks dealer, Ferronordic machines, en-suring uptime averages in excess of 90% to maximize the customer’s production and to minimize the cost per tonne of coal. b

Citing impressive growth in medium- and heavy-duty truck sales, parts and ser-vice growth, and the addi-tion of three new locations, Peterbilt Motors Company named The Larson Group its 2015 North American Dealer of the Year.

“On behalf of everyone at The Larson Group Pe-terbilt, we are honoured to receive Peterbilt’s high-est dealer recognition,” said Glenn Larson, Presi-dent and Dealer Princi-pal of the Larson Group, which operates 16 loca-tions in seven states. “Ev-ery member of our team strives each and every day to exceed our customers’ expectations and provide unparalleled satisfaction. Throughout every area of our operations we focus on continuous improve-ment and embracing the full range of Peterbilt and PACCAR products and services.”

Peterbilt announced the award during its annual Dealer Meeting in San Di-

ego. The two-day business meeting included presen-tations and breakout ses-sions, including focused overviews of the new PACCAR MX-11 engine and SmartLINQ connected truck technology. Accept-ing the award were Glenn Larson and Vice Presidents Kevin Larson, Kory Larson and Kyle Larson.

“The Larson Group Peterbilt is consistently one of our top perform-ing dealers and we are pleased to recognize them as our 2015 North Ameri-can Dealer of the Year,” said Darrin Siver, Peter-bilt General Manager and PACCAR Vice President. “Not only did they add three new dealerships, they added the first dedi-cated TRP parts store and were among the first deal-erships to embrace Peter-bilt’s Rapid Check expe-dited diagnostics program and the SmartLINQ on-board diagnostic telemat-ics technology.”

In addition to the North

American Dealer of the Year, Peterbilt also rec-ognizes top-performing dealer groups with Best in Class awards. Best in Class Awards are based on a combination of Pe-terbilt’s Standard of Ex-cellence scores, financial performance, parts and service performance, and utilization of PACCAR training and programs.Receiving Best in Class Awards were:• Allstate Peterbilt;• Cervus Equipment Peter-

Atlas Copco Construc-tion Equipment launches two new light towers — the HiLight V4 and the LED HiLight V5+. The HiLight V5+ minimizes operational costs with its long-lasting LED bulbs and fuel-efficient operation. The HiLight V4 features four metal-halide floodlights to give contrac-tors a dependable light source for a variety of job-sites. Both models are light-weight, compact and feature Atlas Copco’s exclusive HardHat canopy for extreme durability in rugged applica-tions, such as construction and roadbuilding.

“For their crews to be successful, contractors need equipment that is cost-effective to operate, durable and safe. Those three points are always key drivers for innovation,” said Michael Sagermann, Atlas Copco Business Line Manager, portable energy division. “That’s why we incorporated our exclu-sive HardHat canopy and designed the HiLight V5+ with a compact footprint, LED lights and retractable mast.”

The LED floodlights are rated for 10,000 hours and are durable to withstand a range of challenges, from vibrations during transport to harsh work environ-ments. Contractors with a fleet of 200 light towers, for example, can save as many as 600 bulbs each year when switching from

metal-halide light towers to the HiLight V5+.

Contractors save on fuel costs, as well, due to the tower’s key components — the LED floodlights, 3-kilo-watt generator and Tier 4 Final Kubota diesel engine that operates at 1,800 rpm. The combination of these components allows the unit to achieve runtimes as long as 140 hours while minimizing fuel consump-tion on nighttime projects.

Atlas Copco’s HiLight V4 also has a Tier 4 Final Kubota diesel engine with a 6-kilowatt generator to power four metal-halide floodlights.

The retractable, vertical mast on the HiLight V4 and HiLight V5+ make them easy to transport. The ver-tical mast design, coupled with the compact engine, results in an extremely small footprint, allowing as many as 20 units on a 53-foot trailer.

Both of the light tow-ers’ trailers feature a lift-ing beam with fork pockets and a heavy-duty lifting eye for easy loading and un-loading. The trailers’ com-bination hitch — a feature that comes standard with the light tower — ensures that operators can move a tower with a pickup and ei-ther a pintle or ball receiver mount.

The vertical masts also contribute to worksite safe-ty. Contractors use the V4’s 2,500-pound or the V5+’s

3,500-pound winch to raise the masts’ five sections to the maximum height of 25 feet. Horizontal masts, on the other hand, require two winches — one to extend the mast and the other to raise it from horizontal to vertical. The vertical masts eliminate the risk of the masts tipping backward and expedite setup times. Once extended, the flood-lights rotate 360 degrees and generate as much as 440,000 Lumens to easily illuminate any section of a jobsite.

The light towers’ Hard-Hat canopies, a common feature on Atlas Copco portable air compressors, are a durable, lightweight alternative to steel and ABS (acrylonitrile butadi-ene styrene) thermoplastic canopies. The polyethyl-ene HardHat canopy with-stands corrosion, dents and fading, providing on-going protection of the en-gine and overall unit while keeping the resale value high. Unlike ABS canopies, the HardHat canopy will not crack on impact with debris or other materials.

Atlas Copco designed the light towers for easy serviceability and longev-ity. Technicians can flip open the unit’s gull-wing doors for fast and easy access to the engine and electrical components. Its control and power panel have independent circuit breakers that protect the electrical circuit if over-loading or a short circuit occurs. The panel also in-corporates an hour meter for accurate service sched-uling. The tower’s galva-

nized steel mast prevents rust and features block spacers to reduce friction and minimize wear while raising and lowering the mast. The tower’s spill-free frame with full fluid

containment prevents worksite contamination if a leak occurs.

When the V4 and V5+’s lights are not in use, contractors can power electric handheld tools us-ing the light towers’ duplex

120-volt AC auxiliary re-ceptacles.

Equipment dealers can offer customers multiple options for tailoring the Hi-Light V5+ and HiLight V4 light towers to applications and requirements. For

instance, customers can choose to include an elec-tric winch, emergency stop button, ground connec-tion, engine block heater or spark arrestor. b

30 years ago in Umea Sweden, the world of exca-vation began to rotate and tilt as the Rototilt tiltrotator was born. And things have never been the same since.

Rototilt is a tremendous example of entrepreneur-ship and innovation that now transforms excavators around the world into multi-functional tool carriers. With its 360 degree continuous rotation and 40 degree tilt each way, Rototilt allows excavators and backhoes to perform all types of work more efficiently with few-er machines and reduced manpower. As a result, til-trotators have now become standard equipment in the Nordic countries on excava-tors up to 30 tonne capacity and quickly growing in the Central Europe and North American markets.

UNTIMED POWER BOOST: STRENGTH ON YOUR SCHEDULEWe know what it’s like to sit in the operator’s seat when you hit solid rock. The power boost button on most excavators can deliver the extra force you need to break through – but only in short bursts. We knew there had to be a better way, so we took our jobsite experience and collaborated with our engineers. The result is an untimed power boost that comes standard in all KOBELCO conventional excavators from the SK210LC to the SK500LC. It provides all the extra muscle you need continuously so you can power through the toughest jobs without interruption.

Daimler Trucks’ pow-ertrain component brand Detroit celebrated the pro-duction commencement of their industry leading Automated Manual Trans-mission (AMT), the DT12. With the launch today, the company is delivering on the commitment made dur-ing President Obama’s visit to the Redford facility in December 2012.

The Detroit Powertrain provides integration like only Detroit can, because the engine, transmission, and axles are all engineered and designed to work together as one. The Detroit Powertrain integrates the most fuel ef-ficient DD15 engine ever, with the technologically ad-vanced DT12 transmission and specifically designed Detroit tandem axles.

“I take great pride start-ing the production of DT12 at our Detroit facility. The Detroit integrated Pow-ertrain creates unmatched value for our customers, providing the most fuel ef-ficient, most sought after Freightliner and Western Star trucks. Now this pow-ertrain not only belongs to-gether in our products but also in our production.” said Dr. Wolfgang Bern-hard, Daimler AG Board of Management member responsible for Trucks and Buses. “This is a great day in the history of the proud Detroit brand.”

The new Detroit DT12 combines the operational ease of an automatic with the efficiency of a manual transmission, resulting in enhanced fuel economy, vehicle performance and safety. The addition of the Detroit DT12 automated manual transmission and related assembly represent-ed a capital investment of $100 million and resulted in the addition of 170 new jobs.

“The start of production of the DT12 AMT in Detroit is a testament to our global production team,” said Dr. Frank Reintjes, Head of Global Powertrain, Daimler Trucks and Buses.

Available in the Freight-liner Cascadia and Western Star 5700 XE, the DT12 maximizes fuel efficiency for line-haul/long haul operations. Adding to the transmission’s overall economy is its lightweight design, which offers addi-tional payload because of its aluminium housing and single counter shaft.

The DT12 improves slow-speed manoeuvring capabilities without com-promising high road speed efficiency. The 12-speed, direct- or over-drive auto-mated manual transmis-sion combines a traditional manual gearbox with high-speed, computer-controlled shift and clutch actuators that automatically and seamlessly select the right shift pattern and perfect clutch engagement for fuel economy and engine power. The DT12’s creep mode simulates a torque converter to improve low speed manoeuvrability for parking, docking, heavy traffic and other low speed situations.

Advanced technologies include Skip Shift, which automatically skips gears, enabling the transmission to run through lower gears

faster to achieve cruising speed sooner; and eCoast, which allows the vehicle to ‘coast’ down grades with the engine operating at idle speeds while preserving vehicle momentum, maxi-mizing fuel efficiency.

A proprietary control module communicates with the entire powertrain, giving the transmission and engine the ability to share information and offer complementary functions, which gives the Detroit transmission an advan-tage that only a proprietary powertrain can provide. For example, the engine can limit torque to protect against driveline damage and harsh shifts, while the transmission can optimize shifts to keep the engine in the sweet spot.

Drivers will also appre-ciate comfort features such as helical gears and geo-metrical optimized gear-cut

for noise reduction; pneu-matic clutch and shift actu-ation for faster gear shifts; and a choice between eco or power-mode configura-tion. Additional advantag-es for the driver include a true two-pedal system for ease of operation, and a kick-down feature that im-proves vehicle acceleration when needed.

Detroit offers a complete line of heavy-duty diesel engines, axles and trans-missions for the commer-cial transportation industry in both the on-highway and vocational markets. Detroit engines, axles and transmissions are sold and serviced through a network of more than 800 locations throughout North America.

The introduction of four key Sennebogen material handling machines at one of the world’s largest pulp and paper facilities has helped create a substantial-ly more efficient operation for the Pedersen Group, a mill service provider. The range of log handling equipment Pedersen imple-mented at its Tasman Mill operation is truly compre-hensive; encompassing both the smallest and the largest material handlers, the Sennebogen 818 and the Sennebogen 880 EQ.

Pedersen Group pro-vides a vital production link in terms of log yard logistics, mobile plant op-erations and whole log chipping and debarking services at the Tasman Mill, located on a 500 acre (200 ha) site near the Bay of Plenty town of Kawerau in New Zealand’s North Island. The mill site hosts pulp production operations for both CHH Pulp & Paper and Norske Skog.

“Moving to Sennebogen

started a number of chang-es in our operation. The strength, reliability and innovation of the Senne-bogen units allowed us to look at our fixed and mo-bile plant and to reconfig-ure our yard for maximum efficiency,” said Pedersen’s Kawerau Site Manager Marty Hine.Electrically Driven Sennebogen 818 as Comfortable Control Centre

At the smaller end of the scale, a pedestal mounted, electric drive Sennebogen 818 acts as the control cen-tre for the debarking drum and conveyor feed into a 3000 hp multi-log chipper.

“The hydraulic elevat-ing cab raises and lowers so the operator has excel-lent vision of what’s com-ing from the power infeed, through the debarker and down the conveyor in front of him,” said Hine.

“Essentially the 818 is the nerve centre for the whole plant, with the op-erator using a touchscreen

and joystick controls in the oversized cab to control product flow at variable speeds and deal with jams using the 818’s grapple.”

The electric drive Sen-nebogen 880 EQ is one of the world’s largest mate-rial handling machines. Pedersen’s unit weighs in at over 600,000 lb. (275,000 kg). Sitting on a 16 ft. (5 m) pylon and paired with a 99 ft. (30 m) boom, the operator’s view is at over 36 ft. (11 m). While offering all the ef-ficiency benefits of electric power, the machine is still mobile as it sits on crawl-er tracks and goes 110 ft. (33.5 m) with a tether. Hine said he is impressed with the precision of the Sennebogen 880 EQ and cited the balance the ma-chine exhibits, regardless of load, as exceptional. Even at the 880 EQ’s full reach of 99 ft. and with the total weight in the grab of 26,500 lb. (12,020 kg), the machine is rock steady, he said. This is due to Sen-nebogen’s equilibrium de-sign, with a moving coun-terweight to help keep the load cantered. The long reach of the Senne-bogen 880 EQ can unload from the trailers straight

into the power infeed, or across to the storage area.

Alongside the super-sized handling capacities of the Sennebogen 880 EQ are two Sennebogen 830 M-T log loaders. The 830 M-Ts are the only log handlers that can tow 132,250 lb. (59,987 kg).

“Before the Sennebogen 830s arrived we were using wheel loaders, which can’t stack as high as the 830s can. Wheel loaders can’t tow either, so we’re mov-ing more logs and stacking them more efficiently with a bookend system. The way we use space within the yard has improved dramatically,” said Bruce Hutchins, project lead.

“This reconfiguration also eliminates our old log deck and waterfall system, which means the wood is handled less, resulting in fewer opportunities for damage and loss of fibre,” said Hutchins.

Hine said Sennebogen parts and technical support from Australian distributor Pacific Materials Handling (PMH) has been fantastic.

“PMH has really been with us every step of the way on this. Couple this support with reduced op-erating costs, cheaper con-

sumables and parts and less in the way of service costs and we’re ahead across the board.”

Pacific Materials Han-dling Sennebogen Busi-ness Manager Byron Judd echoed these sentiments.

“From the initial phone call onwards, developing this plan alongside the Ped-ersen Group team has been a truly rewarding working partnership,” he said. b

Ontario is supporting the promotion of fresh lo-cal food in Durham region.

Jeff Leal, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs visited Wil-lowtree Farm in Port Per-ry to announce that the province is investing up to $10,000 towards Durham Farm Fresh’s “Find Your Flavour” project through the Local Food Fund. The Fund supports innovative local food projects that in-crease demand and sales of Ontario food, stimu-late new investment and strengthen Ontario’s agri-food sector.

The funding will help develop a promotional program to increase the demand for local straw-berries, blueberries, apples, corn, and pump-kins. The Durham Farm Fresh Marketing Asso-ciation will also explore new and unique local foods being grown in the region and will pro-mote products from this emerging sector.

The Minister also re-leased the 2015 Rural Roadmap: The Path For-ward for Ontario which provides an update on the province’s progress on implementing programs, highlights initiatives ben-efiting rural Ontario, and outlines how Ontario is creating the conditions for the province’s rural municipalities and busi-nesses to grow, diversify and prosper.

Supporting economic growth in rural Ontario is part of the govern-ment’s economic plan for Ontario. The four-part plan includes investing in people’s talents and skills, making the largest investment in public in-frastructure in Ontario’s history, creating a dy-namic, innovative envi-ronment where business thrives, and building a secure retirement sav-ings plan.Quick Facts• Ontario’s first Rural

Roadmap: The Path For-

ward was first released in 2014, and outlined priorities for supporting rural communities across the province.

• The first Rural Summit was held in March 2014, which informed the Ru-ral Roadmap. The next summit will be held in 2016.

• In 2013, Ontario’s rural communities contributed $106 billion in economic output, or approximately 18 per cent of the prov-ince’s GDP.

•The Local Food Fund is part of the govern-ment’s broader local food strategy to pro-mote the good things that are grown, har-vested and produced across the province.

•Ontario’s agri-food sector contributes over $35 billion in GDP to the prov-ince’s economy and supports more than 781,000 jobs.

• Since 2003, the province has invested more than $170 million to support sales of Ontario foods – including $22 million through the Local Food Fund. b

Rogers Centre is switch-ing to “baseball mode”

permanently.Work began on the sta-

dium’s new all-dirt infield on Wednesday with drills and an excavator break-ing up the concrete floor of the Toronto Blue Jays’ home. It’s the first step in a months-long process that will see Rogers Centre shift its focus into a baseball-first facility.

The switch was made possible after the Toronto Argonauts’ lease was not renewed, sending the Ca-nadian Football League

team to nearby BMO Field.“We had that opportu-

nity now where we know we can keep it in baseball mode for the baseball sea-son,” said Head Ground-skeeper Tom Farrell as heavy machinery worked behind him on the floor of the stadium. “This was re-ally the only year where we could do this.”

The new infield will see a proper dirt diamond con-necting home plate to first, second and third base like most other major league ballparks.

Previously, Rogers

Centre had squares of dirt around each base and home, with turf between the base paths. When the Blue Jays were on long road trips or the Argos had a game the dirt would be scraped off the cement floor and the pitcher’s mound would be lowered in to the ground by hy-draulics.

Now the all-dirt infield will be permanent with protective plates laid over-top for other events like concerts or festivals.

Deeper pits for the in-field are necessary to in-

crease the circulation of moisture, through two inches of pea gravel, four inches of sand and six inches of clay product, and prevent cracking or dust clouds in the summer heat. The old Rogers Centre in-field only allowed four to five inches of dirt.

The new surface could help reduce injuries for infielders and baserunners as the dirt will have more give than the synthetic turf that used to lie between the

bases.“By increasing the

depth it does allow us to provide a little bit more of that cushion,” said Farrell. “Hopefully there’s a side benefit of the players feel-ing a little bit less fatigue from playing on the newer surface.”

Fans taking in Blue Jays games this summer will also notice another differ-ence: the world’s fastest groundscrew will be slow-er and will no longer race

in from the outfield.“It’s going to be a learn-

ing curve for everybody,” said Farrell with a laugh when asked about the groundscrew’s record. “There’s going to be a new process of doing things, new methods. We’ll be us-ing drag equipment which is a lot bigger, so we won’t be hauling it from the left-field gate like we have pre-viously.” b

Case IH is pleased to in-troduce three new Advanced Farming Systems (AFS) prod-ucts: AFS RTK+, ElectriSteer and AFS Connect Data Shar-ing. Led by AFS RTK+, the first proprietary cellular-RTK network offered by an origi-nal equipment manufacturer, these new products help make the benefits of precision agriculture technology more attainable to producers of all sizes. From managing in-puts during field preparation through harvest, these new capabilities add to the com-pany’s full suite of AFS offer-ings across its entire product line-up.

Available for purchase through participating Case

IH dealers, an AFS RTK+ subscription allows pro-ducers to achieve sub-inch, repeatable accuracy through a network of deal-er-supported base stations throughout the United States and Canada. Cel-lular guidance correction signals alleviate line-of-sight issues, including hills, valleys, trees, buildings or other structures — offer-ing consistent accuracy at any distance within the network. AFS RTK+ deliv-ers seamless connectivity and year-over-year, repeat-able sub-inch accuracy by expanding the reach of existing service signals. This means greater field ef-

ficiency and the reduction of application overlaps and skips even in the narrowest of rows.

“AFS RTK+ allows pro-ducers to easily achieve sub-inch accuracy for farming practices that require the highest level of precision, such as strip till or bedding,” said Leo Bose, Case IH AFS Marketing manager. “Better yet, they can rely on this se-cure, Case IH network solu-tion to support their entire fleet.”

Another new feature of-fered through AFS Connect takes existing two-way wire-less-file-transfer capabilities to the next level. The AFS Connect portal now includes a cloud-based data-sharing feature that gives producers an easy way to seamlessly transfer agronomic data to and from trusted third-party providers, including agrono-mist or decision-making software services. Producers now have the ability to ap-prove and direct the sharing of yield maps, prescriptions, and guidance line patterns and much more from any computer or tablet con-nected to the Internet. This allows producers to make farm management decisions on the go.

“Gone are the days of

handing off USB drives,” said Bose. “With AFS Con-nect Data Sharing, produc-ers can collaborate with their trusted third-party providers to make real-time decisions — saving time and money.”

Additionally, Case IH is actively partnering with cloud-based agronomic decision-making software companies to give produc-ers even more options to connect with their trusted third-party providers. Case IH has extended an open invitation to any third-party companies interested in partnering at developer.cnhindustrial.com.

The new Case IH Elec-triSteer universal steering motor connects with the AFS Pro 700 monitor to pro-vide autoguidance for both used and new machines across all equipment manu-

facturers. Within minutes of installation, ElectriSteer provides high torque and a positive drive with whisper-quiet operation. Additional features include operating speeds from 1½ to 15-plus miles per hour, including reverse operation, guidance patterns, swath algorithms, nudge and remark function-ality, plus added aggressive-ness during guidance line acquisition. Easily transfer-ring from one vehicle to the next, ElectriSteer is available for more than 700 vehicle makes/models and can be configured for ultraslow op-erations.

“ElectriSteer is a quick, easy and affordable way for producers to realize the benefits of autoguidance for all their vehicles,” add-ed Bose. b

For customers who need a durable, reliable, fuel efficient and com-pact wheel loader with a 3-cubic-yard bucket capac-ity, Doosan now offers the Tier 4-compliant DL220-5 wheel loader.

Replacing the DL220-3 model, the 160-horsepower DL220-5 provides the pro-ductivity and performance that operators have come to expect from Doosan wheel loaders. Doosan

DL220-5 wheel loaders are driven by a powershift transmission. The fully automatic transmission — with three selectable trans-mission modes — utilizes a vehicle control unit (VCU), which means the engine’s computer and transmission control system constantly communicate with each other to reduce fuel con-sumption and increase per-formance.

The DL220-5 wheel loader falls in the 150 to 175-horsepower size class, and is powered by a Doo-san DL06 diesel engine without the need for a die-sel particulate filter (DPF). The compact, maneuver-able wheel loader is ideal for a variety of applica-tions, such as commercial building, residential site development, road con-struction and maintenance,

land improvement / water control, crop and livestock production, snow removal and scrap handling.

Like its predecessor, the DL220-5 is manufac-tured with a standard Z-bar lift-arm linkage, and is ideal for scooping, load-ing, carrying and general construction tasks. For operators requiring addi-tional dumping capabili-ties, the DL220-5 is also available, for the first time in this model, with a new high-lift Z-bar configura-tion, extending the dump height 18 inches above the standard DL220-5. This configuration is ideal for loading material into high-sided trucks or high hoppers, building stock-piles or handling solid waste. Applications in-clude livestock production facilities, cement plants, scrap and recycling cen-ters, landscaping centers (loading mulch) or waste-water transfer stations.Cab enhancements

Doosan DL220-5 wheel loaders feature cab en-hancements that include a better, adjustable steering column to provide more legroom, ease of opera-tion and more floor space. Also inside the cab, a new fuel consumption gauge informs operators of how

much fuel the wheel loader is using in real time. Up-dates to the keypad on the dashboard make it easier for operators to push but-tons, review and adjust set-tings, and clean and main-tain the keypads.

Visibility within the cab and around the wheel load-er has been improved, too. Two rear LED lamps, work-ing more efficiently than the prior lamps, provide better rear visibility when working at night. Lastly, an adjustable sun visor allows operators to limit direct sunlight inside the wheel

loader cab for improved operating conditions.

Doosan continues to offer its forward-neutral-reverse (FNR) joystick con-trol / gear selector as stan-dard equipment for greater operator comfort. The op-erator can switch between forward, neutral and re-verse without removing his or her hand from the con-trols, simply by pressing the joystick buttons.Routine service made easy

Ease-of-maintenance updates from the DL220-3 to the DL220-5 include ad-

ditional oil sampling ports to improve preventive maintenance procedures. In addition, various fluid pressures are now view-able from the dash panel, allowing monitoring from the cab.

An adjustable auto-shut-down feature in DL220-5 wheel loaders helps op-erators save valuable fuel during non-working condi-tions. Operators can con-figure the idle time before auto shutdown, from 3 to 60 minutes. When enabled, the feature will shut down the wheel loader’s diesel

engine when the preset idle time is met.

Uptime protection fea-tures include a fuel filter separator with double fil-tration that is easily acces-sible behind metal panels that protect internal com-ponents. The high efficient engine air cleaner prevents abrasive particulate matter from entering the engine’s cylinders. Thick wheel loader lift-arm plates pro-vide strength without sac-rificing visibility, and the plates, chassis and joints have been analyzed using

Screen Machine In-dustries LLC once again delivers American inge-nuity with a new patent-ed design for their model CST track mounted por-table cone crusher. This patent places a screen in front of the cone crush-ing chamber to remove the fines prior to crush-ing, which dramatically prolongs the life of the cone and associated wear parts while maxi-mizing productivity.

Pre-screening the fines on a cone crusher is not completely unheard of; however, the Screen Ma-chine Industries open feed design placing the screen in front of the cone is unique. This provides

increased ease of mainte-nance on the screenbox, which is equipped with patented Smooth Start Technology (U.S. Patent #6,669,026). Fine materi-al that passes through the screen bypasses the cone to reduce unnecessary wear and increases rock-on-rock crushing for max-imum efficiency. This screen also folds down for clearance from the cone, enabling easier servicing of the cone itself. U.S. Patent # 9,186,681 guar-antees that this unique design feature is only available on the CST Cone crusher from Screen Ma-chine Industries. b

finite element techniques to confirm the compo-nents’ durability.Limited-slip differentials

With this standard fea-ture, the DL220-5 wheel loader has more trac-tion when digging, grad-ing or loading trucks. Limited-slip differentials help with these tasks and come standard on the DL220-5 wheel loader. To maneuver in tough terrain, the limited-slip differential allows the wheel with the most trac-tion to receive the proper torque, providing supe-rior tractive effort to en-sure operators can keep working, even in soft or wet ground conditions.Selectable work modes

DL220-5 wheel loader operators can choose be-tween three work modes that adjust the loader’s performance to the appli-cation and deliver the right balance of power and fuel economy. The operator simply pushes a button to toggle between the follow-ing work modes:• Economy (Eco): Reduces

fuel consumption for low-demand applica-tions

• Normal: Balances fuel

consumption for every-day digging, grading and lifting tasks

• Power: Provides superior power and performance for heavy-duty condi-tions and truck-loading tasks

Options availableOptions available for

the DL220-5 wheel loader include the following:• 110-volt plug block heat-

er• Emergency steering kit• Heated seat• Hydraulic coupler for

simple attachment changes

• Hydraulic locking front and conventional rear differential

• Load isolation system (also known as ride con-trol): isolates the move-ment of a loaded buck-et from the machine for a smoother ride

• Rearview camera• Rotating beacon• Rubber fender protectors

and full fender with rub-ber protector

Easy attachment changesVersatility is important

to wheel loader owners when they’re working on a jobsite, especially when they want to change at-tachments quickly. The DL220-5 has an optional

Peterbilt Motors Compa-ny showcased three ready-to-work Model 567 mixer trucks configured with set-forward front axles during the 2016 World of Concrete in Las Vegas.

Peterbilt introduced the Model 567 SFFA last year with full production begin-ning in July. It is the indus-try’s newest set-forward front axle vehicle and fea-tures modern, distinctive Peterbilt styling. The set-forward front axle configu-ration provides customers with optimized weight dis-tribution to maximize pay-loads while helping meet state and federal bridge law requirements. The Model 567 SFFA is ideal for mixer and other weight-conscious applications.

The SFFA configura-tion joins Peterbilt’s Model 567 set-back front axle, the company’s popular voca-

tional truck and tractor that features exceptional maneuverability and ver-satility. Like the set-back axle version, the Model 567 SFFA is available in both 115- and 121-inch BBC lengths. The 115-inch BBC has a bumper to front axle distance of 29 inches and the 121-inch BBC has a bumper to front axle dis-tance of 31 inches.

“The Model 567 SFFA is carefully engineered to let customers maximize payloads while helping meet state and federal bridge law requirements,” said Robert Woodall, Pe-terbilt Assistant General Manager of Sales and Marketing. “The Model 567 is a low-weight leader and this new configura-tion will let customers take full advantage of that through optimized weight distribution.”

The three Model 567s on display at World of Con-crete are powered by PAC-CAR engines. The Model 567 is standard with the PACCAR MX-13 engine with up to 500 horsepower and 1,850 lb.-ft. of torque.

Two of the trucks fea-ture the new PACCAR MX-11, a lightweight, fuel effi-cient 10.8-liter engine with up to 430 horsepower and 1,550 lb.-ft. of torque.

“The PACCAR MX-11 engine is a great addition to Peterbilt’s lineup of tech-nologically advanced solu-tions focused on delivering the highest levels of quali-ty, durability, performance, reliability, efficiency and overall return,” said Wood-all. “The PACCAR MX-11 engine provides outstand-ing value in a lightweight and fuel efficient design, and will continue to exceed our high standards and our

customers’ expectations.” The Model 567 is avail-

able as a day cab or with Peterbilt’s complete lineup of detachable sleepers, in-cluding the new 58-inch sleeper.

It can be spec’d with a wide range of options to meet most every jobsite re-quirement and can be con-figured with single, tandem or tridem drive axles and a variety of lift axles.

The Model 567 is an industry leader in durabil-ity with a standard Met-ton hood that is highly resilient and can absorb many impacts that would shatter or crack other ma-terials, and Peterbilt’s sig-nature stainless steel oval mesh grille and surround, and the hood pivot system has a protection function that directs energy around the cooling module in the event of an impact.

Panoramic visibility helps improve productivity and safety, and the forward lighting system is a proven design that significantly enhances down-road vis-ibility and reduces driver fatigue. b
