Stratus Access Will Require Authenticator App

Earlier this year, TREB be-gan the process of switch-ing to a new way to access

Stratus, as the Clareity Token is being phased out. As of June 30, 2018, you will only be able to access Stratus through the Clareity Au-thenticator App. To access Stratus using the new Clareity Authentica-tor App, all Members will require a smartphone running Apple iOS or Android OS. If you do not cur-rently own a smartphone capable of running Apple iOS or Android OS, it is recommended that you update your phone at your earliest

o p p o r t u n i t y to avoid ser-vice interrup-tion.

If you are hav-ing trouble switching to the new app, you can view full guidelines on how to switch here, or watch a series of videos on the process in the Stratus Video Centre here.

Best Practices: Commission Rebates to Clients and Customers

Disclosure of Client Personal Information to

Third Parties

Real estate professionals oper-ate in a highly regulated in-dustry and must follow many

rules and policies. Salespeople and Brokers often have questions about how to stay compliant.

TREB, in cooperation with RECO, has developed a Q&A for the most commonly held compliance ques-tions. This regular column focuses on one topic per month, with the goal of helping you stay compliant in your day-to-day business.

Under the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act, 2002 (REBBA 2002), Brokerages cannot provide any form

of compensation to an unregistered third party for activities that would be considered to be in furtherance of a trade.

It is essential that registrants com-ply with REBBA 2002 and its regu-lations, no matter what marketing strategy they employ. If a registrant rebates part or all of a commission, they must comply with REBBA 2002.

Click here to read a full list of Best Practices, including important is-sues related to commission rebates to clients and customers, that regis-trants should be aware of.

F ollowing inquires for clari-fication received by TREB, this notice has been drafted

to provide information with respect to the disclosure of client personal information to third parties and specifically the disclosure of details regarding pending transactions.

Pursuant to applicable privacy laws, no personal information of your cli-ent, such as details regarding a pend-ing transaction (such as a purchase/

sale price, property address, buyer or seller names, closing date or other personally identifiable information), may be shared with any third parties without the consent of your client. By way of a hypothetical example, disclosure to third parties such as moving companies or commission advance companies is not permitted and will require your client's express consent prior to any such disclosure.

Get Social with TREB

Your condo buyer wants a 2-bedroom, but would settle for a 1+1.

There’s no need to create two separate searches in Stratus. Find all the condos meeting either set of requirements in a single search.

Here’s how:

1) Log in to Stratus and click the Search Properties button.

2) Begin a new Condo Search. In the Property Characteristics section, locate the BR Total field and type a minimum value of 2.

3) Results will include 2-bedroom condos and those that have 1 Bedroom +1 den (or solarium).

4) Furthermore, if you save the search as a Prospect Search, new results will be emailed nightly.
