Essentially, everyone who has a computer has at least one email address. Many people have

multiple addresses for personal and business use. As Members of the Toronto Real Estate Board, you have another: your Trebnet address. The problem with having many email addresses is that you may be missing correspondence sent to a rarely checked account and this can be costly in a business like yours.

Starting on October 28, when Members log in to TorontoMLS/New Stratus, a pop-up box will appear asking them to choose a single email address. This email address will be used for all TREB communications, e-Commerce, copies

of listings sent to clients including Prospect Matches, and REALTOR.ca.

Choosing an email address is mandatory. You will not be allowed to access the MLS® System without making your selection and agreeing to the terms and conditions (click here to view a copy).

After you have selected your email address, you will be prompted to confirm it (or change it if you wish) every four months. This will ensure that all TREB Members have an accurate, live address on file.

Note: If you want to change your email address at any time in the future, you may do so through Manage My Profile.

Members who have asked the Help Desk to forward their Trebnet emails to other email accounts should be aware that these changes will in no way affect that arrangement.

As REALTORS®, we believe that everyone should have a roof over their head and a home

of their own, but sometimes it doesn't work out that way. That is why TREB Members donated $468,000 in the past year to support shelter-based charities across the GTA. Here is one example of why we do it!

In case you missed it, watch TREB President Paul Etherington’s CP24 interview on why home ownership is

a great investment. TREB will be pushing this message over the next year to both Members and the public. Here are some highlights of our campaign:

• TREB spokesperson appearances on CP24 TV every other week this fall and

in spring 2015• CP24 to promote the message all day, every day, for the duration of our arrangement in multiple formats (e.g., video clips, promo boxes, etc.)• Online on CP24’s websites• Mobile• On CP24’s TREB branded webpage (interviews, related material, video

clips, etc.) and TREB’s public website torontorealestateboard.com • Social Media (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest)• President’s newspaper and magazine columns• Internally to TREB Members (intranet, online newsletters, etc.)

Six new demographic maps have been added to the Condo corner, and they’re not just for condo

practitioners. These maps cover the entire GTA and show you useful information such as:

• average household income• the percentage of the population renting• land use• median age of the population• population growth • retail density.

You can use this information to educate your clients on the areas they may be interested in living, and they can also be of value for marketing your services to targeted segments of the population.

To access the demographic maps:1. Click Condo Corner on the home

page of TorontoMLS/New Stratus. The Condo Corner appears.

2. Click the Maps icon in the Condo Corner. A pop-over window appears.

3. Select the demographic map of your choice.

While you’re visiting the Condo Corner, don’t forget about the other great resources found in this area such as the Condo Registry (a searchable database of condominium building names, corporation numbers, and management companies), information on condominium assignments, links to order status certificates, and more.
