Besides the Indulgences attached to the Rosary, Our Lady revealed to St. Dominic andBlessed Alan de la Roche additional benefits for those who devoutly pray the Rosary.

    1. Whosoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary shall receivesignal graces. (Signal Graces are those special and unique Graces to help sanctify us in our state inlife).

    2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall re-cite the Rosary.

    3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin

and defeat heresies.4. It will cause good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of

God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire for Eternal Things. Oh, that souls would sanctifythemselves by this means.

    5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary shall notperish.

    6. Whosoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the considerationof its Sacred Mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chas-tise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just he

shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of Eternal Life .7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacra-

    ments of the Church.

    8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at theirdeath the Light of God and the plenitude of His Graces; at the moment of deaththey shall participate in the Merits of the Saints in Paradise.

    9. I shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.

    10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of Glory in Heaven.

    11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by recitation of the Rosary.

    12. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have

for intercessors the entire Celestial Court during their life and at the hour ofdeath.

    14. All who recite the Rosary are my Sons, and brothers of my Only Son Jesus Christ .

    15. Devotion to my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

    PORTA FIDEITeaching

Porta fidei, door of faith is an apostolic letter written by Pope Benedict XVIlast year October, and it was intended to be a prelude to the launching of theyear of Faith, October 11 th 2012 to November 24 th 2013. In this letter addressedto the people of God through their pastors, the Bishops all over the world, thePope tried to explain why year of Faith and what he hopes will be achievedthrough the year.

The door of Faith is always open for us, the Pope wrote, and to enterthrough the door is to set out on a journey that lasts a life time, beginning withbaptism and ends with the passage through death to eternal life. Hence, the

Church as a whole and all her Pastors, like Christ, must set out to lead peopleout of the desert, towards the one who gives us life, and life in abundance.

Using the desert to describe the situation in the world today, the Holy Fatherpointed out the spiritual dryness in the world today, the too many lack of faitheven among Christians, the excessive pursuit of worldly pleasures and belongingshave caused the erosion of faith in the world. It is increasingly becoming difficultand for some people shame to practice the faith today.

The Holy Father recognized that the difficulty stemmed from the fact thatthere is no more unitary cultural matrix, broadly accepted in its appeal to thecontent of the faith and the values inspired by it. Many people have been affectedby a profound crisis of faith due to the global challenges and cultural differencesand religions.

He will urge the faithful not to accept that salt should be tasteless or the lightbe kept hidden, he believed that we can still experience the need to go to thewell, like the Samaritan woman (Jn 4:14), and that we must rediscover a taste forfeeding ourselves on the word of God faithfully handed down by the Church, andon the bread of life, offered as sustenance for His disciples.

The Pope is convinced that the two things lacking in the world today are themost essential in professing our faith, listening to the word of God and being incommunion with Him through the sacramental life in the Church, these wouldreinvigorate our faith, purify it, confirm it and confess it.

So then, all of us are being called by the pope to a renewal which we mustachieve through witnessing with our lives as believers, to radiate the word oftruth that the Lord Jesus has left us. This year of faith summons us to an authen-tic and renewed conversion to the Lord, the one savior of the world. It is be-lieved that through this renewal of faith, our lives should be shaped according tothe radical new reality of the resurrection which is freely chosen by us believers, transforming us and bringing us nearer home with the journey of faith in this life.

This renewed faith would make us to be strong committed Christian workingwithin the ecclesial communities to rediscover the joy of believing and the enthu-

siasm for communicating thefaith to others. Faith grows whenit is lived as an experience oflove received and of grace and

joy. The Holy father wants thisyear to arouse once more inevery believer the aspiration toprofess the faith in fullness andwith renewed conviction, withconfidence and hope and also torediscover the content of the

too, there is a need for strongerecclesial commitment to newevangelization in order to redis-cover the joy of believing and theenthusiasm for communicatingthe faith.

In the Year, the Holy Fatherinvites us all to rediscover thecontent of the faith that is pro-

fessed, celebrated, lived andprayed, and to reflect on the actof faith. This is a task thatevery believer must make hisown, especially in the course ofthis Year ( Porta Fidei , 9). Let ustake advantage of this time ofgrace, entering deeply into themystery of faith by pondering ofthe scriptures of the daily liturgy.

Year of Faith Begins October 11, 2012; Focuses on New Evangelization www.bcbpkapatran.com

October 11, 2012 marks thebeginning of the special Year ofFaith proclaimed by Pope Bene-dict XVI. This date was chosenbecause it is both the fiftiethanniversary of the opening of theSecond Vatican Council, and thetwentieth anniversary of thepublication of the Catechism ofthe Catholic Church. Also, duringthis month, a General Assemblyof the Synod of Bishops willgather at the Vatican to reflecton the theme: The New Evan-gelization for the Transmission ofthe Christian Faith. The Year ofFaith will end on November 24,2013, the Solemnity of Christ theKing.

The Holy Father has issued anApostolic Letter, Porta Fi-dei [Door of Faith], which ex-plains his vision for the Year. Abrief summary, including quo-taions from the Pope, was givenin an explanatory note by the

Congregation for the Doctrineof the Faith:The Year of Faith is intendedto contribute to a renewed con-version to the Lord Jesus and tothe rediscovery of faith, so thatthe members of the Church willbe credible and joy-filled wit-nesses to the Risen Lord in theworld of today capable ofleading those many people whoare seeking it to the door offaith (Acts 14:27). This dooropens wide mans gaze to JesusChrist, present among usalways, until the end of theage (Mt 28:20). He shows ushow the art of living is learnedin an intense relationship withhim. Through his love, JesusChrist attracts to himself thepeople of every generation: inevery age he convokes theChurch, entrusting her with theproclamation of the Gospel by amandate that is ever new. Today

faith, that is professed, cele-brated, lived and prayed. And toreflect on the act of faith is a taskthat every believer must make.

During the month of November wedevote a special time to remember ourdeparted love ones. Here in BCBP Mac-tan we also remember the leaders whoin one way or another touched our liveswhile they were still with us. We believethat Kuya Danny, Kuya Leo, Kuya Iggyand Kuya Jun are now our intercessors.

On November 8, 2012, Ate LotteTompong, wife of BCBP ConsolacionChapter Head, Benson Tompong, passed

Both in Life and Death They Belong to God

To pay tribute our beloved de-parted, we travelled to Panglao, Boholfor the long Kalag -Kalag weekend. With the school semester just endedand another semester about to start, our finances were tight. But Godsgraciousness provided for this low-budget vacation.

And what a great time we haddoing things together. Looking throughsome old photographs, visiting rela-tives, walking to and from the ceme-tery for the Holy Mass, cleaning andbeautifying the gravesite, as well aspraying for the dead did wonders toour body that at the end of the daysnuggled together on the floor matfor a refreshing sleep did not matter atall.

We were also blessed to have availedof an overnight stay in one of the resorthotel at Alona Kew. Thanks to a cousinwho gave us a discounted rate . Enjoyingthe sumptuous but inexpensive food, thefrolic on the beach watching the sun rise- are just among the beautiful things thatmake lasting memories.

    The weekend getaway proved that

we dont need to have much money toenjoy lifes many blessings. In fact ittaught many lessons that I know thechildren will treasure. Like the value ofneeds over wants as we scrimped on thelimited resources that we had. It alsoproved Gods faithfulness. That if weseek God first, the rest will fall intoplace.
