Welcome back to term 3! I hope you all enjoyed some quality time with your children. During the holidays Mrs Hildebrand was given a transfer to Wagga. Mrs Fealy will now work each Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and Mrs Mawdoza will be with 3/4Red each Monday and Tuesday. 3/4Red students already know Mrs Mawdoza well, so I am confident that it will be a very smooth transition for all students. Each Wednesday Mrs Mawdoza will then be working with 3/4students on the Dolly program- promoting friendship, anti-bullying behaviours and positive relationships. Our 3 way interviews begin this Thursday and will run through to Tuesday 7 th August with evening interviews. Please check carefully when your child’s interview day is being held and send your request for a time slot back to your child’s teacher as soon as possible. On your interview day please come to the front office first and our office staff will gather your child and direct you both to the correct interview room. An important date for your diary: Tuesday 7 th August we will be celebrating Education Week. We will hold a special assembly in the COLA, you are all invited to open classrooms and the Book Fair will be held in our Library. The P&C will be providing lunch for families to enjoy. We are now accepting names for Kindergarten 2019.

An ‘Expression of Interest to Enrol’ is attached to this newsletter.

If you have a child who will be starting school next year please complete the form and return it

to the Front Office. We will be holding our 2019 Kindergarten Open Day

on Friday 7th September at 11:30 am in the Kindergarten rooms.

Look What’s Happening in Our Library this Term:

It’s going to be a very busy Term 3 for everyone, including our Library where there’s going to be lots happening. Take a look below at just some of the things coming up:

• In Week 3 we will be holding our annual Book Fair. This is a very popular event and many students have already begun colouring in (our colouring competition is due on Friday 3rd August- winners receive a voucher to spend at the fair).

• Week 5 is Children’s Book Week so start planning your costume now – come dressed as a favourite book character or get together with some friends and dress as the characters from the same story. This year we will be asking everyone who dresses up to bring a gold coin donation which we will collect and donate to the RDA.

• We will also visit the Town Library in Book Week and all classes are busy finalising their entries for the competition they are holding.

• Also this year we are encouraging students to participate in a book swap during Book Week. Here’s how the “book swap” will work: students bring in a book from home that they’re finished with (one that they think others will enjoy and that is still in good condition). Yes, you can bring more than one book. For every book brought in you will receive a ticket and on our dress-up day you can choose a “new” book to take home and enjoy. (Please start to bring your books in ASAP so that Mrs Giffin is not swamped on the day!).

• The Premier’s Reading Challenge is continuing BUT concludes on Friday 31st August. Many readers have already finished but for those who haven’t, time will run out quickly so KEEP READING! Remember, you have to read 20 books and can change your book every day except Friday.

• In Week 8 the Town Library will be hosting a visiting author which is always a highlight. Our children always enjoy this experience and will be looking forward to meeting this year’s guest when the time comes.

• Remember- borrowing continues from the Library but you do need to bring in a Library Bag to protect the books please.
