It is true you cant have one without the other, but as the Apostle Paul states: [I]f Christ has not been raised, your faith is useless; you are still in your sins. (1 Corinthians 15:17) Hisresurrectionsealsthedeal.Buttherearemanychurch-goersand many clergy who have lost sight of just how signifcant the resurrection is not only for theology and church life, but for all of life. Some in the Christian faith today have adopted modern thinking and either down-play, redefne or fat-out deny his physical resurrection. I am puzzled how such can hold to this view and simultaneously go about practicing their faith or ministry as if it has meaning or purpose. If Jesus did not physically rise from the dead, then every church needs to shut down and every preacher needs to shut up for there is nothing left to be said. But what is more puzzling is how those who say they do believe in the physical resurrection of Christ live their lives as if it never happened. WhatImeanismanythinkofJesusasahistoricalfgurelikeGeorgeWashingtonandthe resurrection like the Crossing of the Delaware. He existed! It happened! We believe it! Were going to celebrate it on Easter, but we are not sure what it means for us today or why we should have hope for tomorrow. First, what do we understand about his resurrection? Te idea many have is probably more akin to resuscitation than resurrection. Te corpse of Jesus simply came back to life from the dead. Tis is not all that diferent than the Swoon Hypothesis which says he fell unconscious on the cross and woke up in the tomb. Yes it was the same physical body that was crucifed, but at the same time it was a changed body. Tis is why the disciples did not immediately rec-ognize Jesus when they saw him. Paul says the fesh is transformed to become a diferent kind of fesh no longer susceptible to corruption. Like a seed sown in the ground, the body is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body. When I got into it, it was a boom and it was good from then on, Walter said. Jef stresses that he wants the younger generation to realize the importance of the trucking industry and to keep it alive.Im just trying to keep turning the pages in another chapter, he said.Walter still comes to work a couple days a week. But Jef operates the business. When most people see large trucks on the road, they become annoyed with their size and how slow they drive. But most people also do not know how much truckers contribute to our society. Almost everything going to and from the stores and business they are sold in travels on a truck at some point. Around noon on Truckers Appreciation Day this year, Ron Davis of Front Porch Music sits on his stool fddling on his banjo, evoking a real front porch atmosphere as the men who have been driving the roads sit down to relax and eat BBQ that can be smelled from a mile away. Tey share similar stories and sometimes recognize each others voice from talking over their CB radios on the road.Eugene Williams is there for the food and good company and to purchase a new cable for his radio.Oh, I come every year, Williams said. Idonot want to have too much to handle at one time. So, when is the last date I should plant corn here in North Florida? NDA: I commend you for staggering planting times in your home garden. It is a smart strat-egy which will allow you to gather the harvest at various times throughout the season with-outbeingoverloadedwithtoomuchatone time. Tis will also allow time for canning or freezing the produce in smaller increments so it can be enjoyed all year long. Te corn plant-ing season here in North Florida goes through the end of April, therefore you have plenty of time to plant a few more rows of corn. Always plant more than one row of corn. Home gar-dens should have 2-3 rows of corn. Remem-ber to plant the corn in such a way so it does not cast a long shadow on other garden plants needingfullsun. Ifpossible,planttheveg-etable rows so they slightly curve to discour-age soil erosion. It is important to rotate your crops, which will discourage a strong build up of insects and disease in any one planting area.
