  • This huge statue became a symbol of hope and freedom for hundreds of millions of people.

  • The Statue of Libertys complete name is Liberty Enlightening the World.

  • For immigrants the statue was a strong, welcoming figure holding out the promise of freedom and opportunity.

  • The Statue of Liberty stands 151 feet 1 inch high from its feet to the top of the torch. Also it weighs 225 tons.

  • In 1924, The Statue of Liberty became a national monument. Also, it was constructed and built by Gustave Eiffel a French engineer.
