This Week’s Learning

CLASS 1 In maths, we have further developed our understanding of number by counting forwards and backwards, identifying missing numbers within a sequence and comparing numbers using the language of greater than and less than. In English, we have been reading traditional stories and have retold them through drama and in writing.We have focused on the use of capital letters for tnames of people, places, days of the week and the personal pronoun 'I'. It has been a particularly busy week for our Y6s this week as they have taken their KS2 SATs tests each morning. They are absolutely delighted to have completed them and we are all so proud of their mature attitude and approach to the lead up and to the tests themselves. Well done to you all! Thank you for providing your child/ren with sun cream and sun hats this week in school. We do spend lots of time learning and playing outside in the summer term and particularly when the weather is warm so wearing sun cream is so important. Headteacher Recruitment On Monday and Tuesday of next week, a panel of governors, our Local Authority and DioceseAdvisers will be conducting interviews for the Headteacher role at Goldsborough and Sicklinghall. The process will take place at both schools and will involve a series of activities designed to assess each candidate's suitability for the role. We shall communicate the outcome of these interviews as soon as we are able. Please note that governors would need to liaise with the successful candidate's current school before making the appointment public and, therefore, we may not be in a position to announce the successful candidate until later this term.
