Walk: On May 19th, at our 31st Walk, more than 80 community
members joined us as we remembered our friends who died from
HIV-related illnesses. Sonya Robison and JD & Bee Tunes N’
Things provided inspiring music. Howie Peterson was honored for his
ongoing commitment to raise necessary funds for us and for keeping
HIV in the forefront of our local men’s community. Shirley Squires
continued to raise the bar by collecting another $23,000 in
donations bringing her total to $350,000 and counting for the AIDS
Project over the past twenty-six years.
Patrick Brown Sunsets Off The Board: Many thanks to Patrick
Brown for six years of service on the Board of Directors, most
recently as Board Chair. Patrick was a tireless advocate for our
clients and staff and we know he will continue to support HIV/AIDS
awareness and education in Windham and Bennington counties.
Pet Love: With a generous gift from the Vermont Community
Foundation: Crosby-Gannett Fund, we were able to purchase food for
beloved pets of our clients.
World AIDS Day: As part of our World AIDS Day Commemoration on
November 30, Dora Urujeni shared with us her experience working and
living in Rwanda and members of The Harmony Lot lifted us up with
beautiful songs.
Drag Show: The Ladies of the Rainbow enthralled us once again as
they gave generously of their time and talent at the benefit
Holiday Drag Show raising $6,400 for the AIDS Project. Many thanks
to photographer Julie Houle (Maple Leaf Photography) for capturing
the spirit of the show.
Holiday Bags: Veronica Wheelock continued her annual tradition
of brightening the holidays by creating individual gift bags for
clients.

Our offices in Bennington and Brattleboro continue to help more
than 85 clients with such staples as nutritious food, safe and
affordable housing, rides to appointments and access to health care
and medications.
We know that many individuals at highest risk for contracting
HIV struggle with addictions. In 2018, we provided more than 200
individuals with safer sex supplies, sterile syringes and safe
disposal, health and treatment referrals, HIV and Hepatitis C
testing, and one-on-one interventions.
We remain committed to addressing the needs of individuals
living with or at risk for contracting HIV and appreciate the
continued support from our community.
