The TRUMPF Group ranks among the worlds leading manu-

facturers of production technology. Technical solutions for our

customers have been our focus since 1923. Our innovations

lead the way in machine tools and power tools for sheet metal

fabrication as well as in laser and medical technology. Milestones

in the punching field include a patent for coordinate guidance

in 1955 and the first nearly fully automated punching machine

in 1968. We were the first supplier to introduce combination

technology which combines punching and laser cutting in one

machine on the market in 1979. We have been producing

our own lasers for industrial production since 1985 and have

    become a worldwide industry leader.

TruMatic machines combine the benefits of punching and laser

cutting. They make it possible to produce a broad range of parts

and complete even the most demanding jobs.

    Why TruMatic

    convincing.machines are so

  • 8/9/2019 TruMatic En

    5/285

    Three-dimensional punching.

Standard jobs, such as rectangular or round holes, are punched

with a single stroke. Punching is also the right technologyfor strips, threads or other forming operations. Only punching

brings you into the third dimension and enables complete part

    processing. Secondary operations become unnecessary.

    Especiallygood with exceptional forms.

The laser is simply the best solution for cutting high-quality

outer contours and filigree inner contours. With the narrow

laser head on a TruMatic, you can cut very close to or even

on produced forms. This means that even unusual workpiece

geometries can be produced with high process reliability.

  • 8/9/2019 TruMatic En

    6/286

    Intelligent punching.

The TruMatic punching head always holds just one tool. No

matter which one is loaded, the punching head can rotate any

tool 360 to any angle, regardless of its shape, size or place-

ment in the magazine. The benefits are obvious. Fewer tools are

needed and unnecessary tool changes are eliminated. So, your

costs are lower and your production is more economical. Ifthat is not enough, the 360 rotation simplifies the process of

designing parts and programming the machine you no

longer have to worry about which tools can be rotated and

    which cannot.

The punching head has even more advantages: the long guide

in the ram hardly wears at all and ensures precise results. The

integrated spray lubrication protects your tools while the active

head return ensures process reliability. The presser foot prevents

    unwanted sheet deformation during processing.

    Systematic laser cutting.

Our lasers prove their beam quality and reliability in daily indus-

trial operations a thousand times over. Working with a TruMatic

laser is very simple. Application-specific settings such as cut-

ting speed, laser output or gas pressure are regulated auto-

matically. ControlLine maintains a constant distance between

the cutting nozzle and the sheet metal so reliable and precisethat you can even cut on the forms, not just beside them. The

fast-changing system permits you to exchange the cutting

head with a hand grip. Cutting residues from laser cutting are

    suctioned up and filtered immediately.

    Both stable and accessible.

The design principle of all TruMatic machines is an open C-

frame, which makes both the machine and workpiece access-

ible from three sides. There is plenty of room for loading and

unloading the machine manually or automatically. The

machine and accompanying work table are extremely stable

    to prevent inaccuracies.

MultiTools integrate up to ten punches. The original TRUMPF punching tools.

    Everything you need in tooling.

We have many years of experience in manufacturing high-qual-

ity punching and forming tools and can, therefore, offer the

broadest range of tools on the market. We also produce custom

tools made to order. With the MultiBend tool, you can bend

strips up to 25 mm tall and 55 mm long faster than on any press

    brake and with high quality.

Wheel tools are especially fast whether you are cutting, off-

setting or beading. With 360 rotation technology, wheel tech-

nology is possible even for circles and curves.

With MultiTools, which can hold up to ten punches, multiple

machining processes can be performed without having to

change tools. You save space in the magazine as well as time,

    since fewer set-ups are required.

Special tools that prevent scratching, as well as embossing andmarking tools for indelible workpiece identification, complete

    the assortment of available tools.

No matter which tools you use, we offer a number of re-

sources to make their handling easier. QuickSet helps you

to align your tools and measure their length. QuickSharp

sharpens punches and dies for the next job.

  • 8/9/2019 TruMatic En

    8/288

Set-up virtually takes care of itself.

Our tools are quickly assembled from the punch, stripper and

die and then loaded into a cartridge. Then the preloaded cart-

ridges are simply inserted into the easily accessible linear maga-

zine. Since all of the magazine stations have a standard design,

any type and size of tool or clamp can be loaded in any station.

Set-up errors are immediately noticeable not only because

you have all of the tools in view at all times, but also because

the machine automatically checks where the tools and clamps

are located before the programme runs.

    Insert, power up, done.

Our modular switch cabinet has been built to enable plug-

and-play, so the machine can be retrofitted without a service

technician. Any electrician can easily add and connect new

modules in any available slot the machine will automatically

detect the new component the next time it is started up.

Setting up a TruMatic is as easy as it gets.

    Everything under control.

You will master a TruMatic machine in the blink of an eye. The

user interface is similar to Microsoft Windows ; the control

system can be operated intuitively. The heart of the system are

the technology tables that adjust the machine automatically

to different materials and sheet thicknesses. The built-in online

help system answers questions right where they arise at the

machine. And should it ever be necessary, our Teleservice can

access your machine, with your permission, through the inte-

grated modem and can eliminate possible operating or setting

errors online. You can easily order a modem connection in the

    TRUMPF E-Shop.

The operating panel is ergonomic and clear.

    Entry into combination processing.

The TruMatic 3000 is exactly the right machine for anyone

who wants to considerably expand their part range. When it

comes to medium-sized metal sheets up to 4 mm thick, both

technologies combined in the TruMatic 3000 ensure optimal

    complete processing performance.

The programmable parts chute sends finished workpieces to a container.

    Small, strong, gentle.

The TruMatic 3000 doesnt require much space and is particu-

larly easy on your workpieces. Pneumatic spring-loaded rollersin the work table guide the sheets over the dies almost scratch-

free and the standard brush tables maintain sheet surface

quality. The TruMatic 3000 operates with a maximum punching

force of 165 kN and punches at up to 600 strokes per minute.

    A true bundle of energy.

For laser cutting with the TruMatic 3000, we use the compact, diffusion-cooled CO2

laser TruCoax 2000. As a speciality machine for thin sheet processing, it stands forlow maintenance and effective laser cutting. Thanks to diffusion cooling, the laser gas

does not have to be circulated, eliminating the need for moving parts. With its 2,000 W

output, the TruCoax 2000 effortlessly achieves the cutting speed of the conventional

3,000 W laser. It consumes so little gas that one Premix gas bottle is enough for about

    a year.

    Software:

We developed our TruTops Punch software specifically for

punching and combination processing. From inception to thefinished part, it fully utilises all of TRUMPFs expertise. It works

well with our automation components and is intuitive and easy

    to use.

Just three steps to the NC programme.

In the first step, existing production drawings are imported from

your 2D or 3D CAD system or drawn in using TruTops Punchitself. Macros for frequently used or unusual geometries make

producing a drawing fast and efficient. TruTops Punch auto-

matically closes open contours, deletes duplicate drawing ele-

ments and cleans up rough contour transitions.

Step 1: Generating the drawing. Step 2: Setting up the sheet layout.

    success.

    Programmed

    for

  • 8/9/2019 TruMatic En

    23/2823

In the second step, optimised sheet layouts are created auto-

matically or manually with TruTops Punch. This ensures maxi-mum processing speeds. The nest processor calculates the best

possible sheet layout for the individual parts. Even in manual

layout mode there are numerous automation features to assist

you. So, fast reliable sheet layouts are as easy as can be.

Since the TruTops Punch software knows every detail of every

TruMatic machine, it can find the fastest processing sequence.

It defines the punching of single holes and complete contours.

If necessary, TruTops Punch automatically generates common

cuts between the workpieces. Finished parts are discharged

through the parts chute or unloaded by the SheetMaster auto-

mation component TruTops Punch selects the right suction

and ensures that the finished parts are stacked correctly. The

software is just as methodical in planning the loading and sheet

    skeleton removal processes.

In the third step, the software automatically creates the finished

NC programme and sends it to the machine. Along with theNC programme, TruTops Punch generates easy-to-read set-up

plans with detailed processing times and tooling information.

Multiple NC programmes can be combined into a single pro-

    duction plan for automated production.

For its hardware platform, TruTops Punch requires only a stand-

ard PC with the Windowsoperating system. The software can

be integrated with the plants internal network and linked with

the TruMatic through the online connection.

    Everything well in hand.

SheetMaster loads and unloads the machine during production

time. Its vacuum technology ensures gentle workpiece hand-ling. It automatically feeds the sheet metal while sensors moni-

tor processing, from the raw sheet to the finished workpiece.

The GripMaster and the SheetMaster together form one unit

and dispose of scrap skeletons or strips while your TruMatic

reloads and stacks them automatically on a scissor table.

Our automation components lower your turnaround times

and therefore costs. With precision timing they load raw

materials and unload sorted, finished workpieces. Minimal set-

up time means more flexibility for completing orders. You

can easily cover break times or run additional shifts as needed.

Automation eliminates the risk of operator error, improving

    workpiece quality.

Our experienced project engineers really know their business:

in sheet metal processing and material flow, in transport, ware-

house and control technology and of course in customer con-

sulting. As an experienced single-source supplier, we provide

comprehensive turnkey solutions, including programming and
