ODOT_Balloon.mvba, v10.04.16: o Updated to allow underscore characters entered in the Reference field to be

ODOT_BrSheetInfo.mvba, v10.04.16: o Modified the Help function to read the renamed PDF documentation for the

application. o Removed the ODOT snow plow graphic from the face of the dialog.

ODOT_Directory.exe, v10.04.16: o Removed the code to copy XS_Grade_Pts.mdb file from V8iSTD to the \admin\mdb

folder. The mdb file is used by the program ODOT_XS_Pts.mvba. The code to test for the .mdb and copy the file if it is not present was added to ODOT_XS_Pts.mvba.

ODOT_Files.mvba, v10.04.16: o New application to replace ODOT_Files.exe. This application runs directly inside

MicroStation and does not require the user to close MicroStation as the previous application did. The new application is approximately 30% faster than the old application. The downside is that the user must run the new application from inside MicroStation since it is a MicroStation vba application. As a result, users creating the first design file on a new project will have to open a design file from a different project in order to create the new files, or use the old stand-alone .exe version of the application. Future updates will be made to the .mvba version of the application only.

ODOT_GTShNumbering.mvba, v10.04.16: o Modified the Help function to read the renamed PDF documentation for the


ODOT_RefMeas.mvba, v10.04.16: o The reference file name with the path was truncated in the dialog display. A minor

change was made to display the reference file name without the path.

ODOT_Sheet_Numbering.mvba, v10.04.16: o Modified the Help function to read the renamed PDF documentation for the


ODOT_SheetRefs.mvba, v10.04.16: o Corrected a problem where the path for the cross reference design file name would

be stored incorrectly if the user cycled through all the data fields in the cross reference text multiple times. This caused a “File not found” error with the ODOT_XRefNumbers.mvba application. The problem lies with the cross references application, not the numbering application. Users who have run into the “File not found” error with cross reference numbering will have to delete the cross reference text and reassign the cross references using the updated application.

o When assigning cross references to a text element that does not have cross reference data assigned, the application would display the cross reference data from the previously selected text element. This has been corrected.



ODOT_StormSewerPlan.mvba, v10.04.16: o Added support for vertical pipe bends. This app does not store the bend data. The

app has been updated to retain bend data when editing and redrawing storm sewer pipes that have bend data attributes assigned,

ODOT_StormSewerProfile.mvba, v10.04.16: o Added support for vertical pipe bends

ODOT_StormSewerXS.mvba, v10.04.16: o Added support for vertical pipe bends o Corrected a problem where the application would crash if there was a skewed cross

section that had one end point outside the limits of the chain. The app will now simply ignore the cross section rather than crash.

ODOT_XRefNumbers.mvba, v10.04.16: o Added an error trap for the case where a cross reference contained a reference to a

design file that cannot be found. The application will alert the user as to which reference generated the error and which cross reference design file it could not find. The application terminates processing after sending the error message.

o Removed the ODOT snow plow graphic from the face of the dialog.

ODOT_XS_Pts.mvba, v10.04.16: o Added a test to ensure that the file XS_Grade_Pts.mdb exists in the \admin\mdb

folder for the selected project. If the file does not exist, it is copied from V8iSTD \mdb\ folder to the project folder.

ODOT_XSSplitSheets.mvba, v10.04.16: o Changes were made to improve the processing speed when using the “All Sheets in

the Active Model” option.

All ODOT PDF Documentation for the VBA Apps: o The contact information for all the .pdf documentation was updated to reference the

ODOT CADD Support web page.

NEW APPLICATIONS:

ODOT_StationOffset.mvba, v10.04.16: NEW - application developed for use when GEOPAK is not needed. The application provides the following tools using a MicroStation line or complex chain as a reference element (see the documentation for more details):

o Labeling – Station/Offset labels, Centerlline Stationing labels o Place cells at a specific station and offset relative to a MicroStation element o Send Datapoint – sent a data point to the active MicroStation command from a

station and offset value keyed in by the user.



ODOT_StormSewer3D.mvba, v10.04.16 NEW - application to draw ODOT drainage items (both existing and proposed) in a 3D model. The drainage items must be initially drafted using ODOT’s various drainage VBA apps.

ODOT_StormSewerPipeBends.mvba, v10.04.16: NEW - application to store vertical pipe bend data on the graphics for proposed storm sewer pipe elements that have been previously drawn in the plan view.

GEOPAK Road V8i Files:

ODOT.ddb, v10.04.16: Two categories were added to split the Existing Maintenance of Traffic items into Class I Markings and Class II Markings.

GEOPAK Survey V8i Files:

ODOTv8i.sdp, v10.04.16: New default Survey Preferences file for GEOPAK Survey v8i.

ODOT.smd, v10.04.16: Previous versions of the SMD file contain a generic feature code, PAINTL, which is used for multiple pavement marking line types. This was done to reduce the number of feature codes in the data collector. The surveyor, or the designer, is required to change the symbology from the generic item to the correct symbology after the survey data has been processed and mapped. This causes problems if the survey data is remapped; the symbology defaults back to the original feature code’s generic symbology. In order to better facilitate the process of changing the symbology of the pavement marking lines, we have added several codes to the SMD file for the various pavement marking feature types. The new codes are intended to be used in the Office to change the symbology of the pavement markings by editing the field code from PAINTL to the appropriate new code. This edit would be done to the survey chains in the GPK file after the survey data has been processed and mapped, but it could be done to the raw data before processing the survey data. The field codes listed below have been added to the SMD file. These codes are in a new category called “Office Use”.

Removed the ODOT_Fonts.rsc file from the MS_SYMBRSRC path and included it in the MS_FONTPATH. Setting the MS_SYMBRSRC variable using the equals syntax excludes the Bentley supplied .rsc files from ODOT’s V8i configuration. The variable is now set as shown below:

MS_SYMBRSRC = $(V8iSTD)/symb/ODOT_Linestyles.rsc MS_FONTPATH is a NEW variable in V8i used to locate fonts for use in MicroStation. Using the equals syntax sets the variable to the location of ODOT’s font resource file, ODOT_Font.rsc. The Bentley default AutoCAD font was copied to ODOTstd\V8istd\symb directory to be included in the font list as required. MicroStation will exit with an error if it cannot locate the msdefault.shx file. The variable is now set as shown below:

o Corrected a problem creating a Signal Plan design file. The application was mistakenly hard coded with an annotation scale value of 1 for this sheet type. It has been changed to allow a user definable annotation scale value.

o Added a check to make sure that the file does not already exist when creating new design files. In a rare case, the program was accidentally overwriting previously created files.

The new variable MS_FONTPATH was revised because it was creating problems with the scaling of linestyles in the dgn file. The variable was revised to point to a NEW fonts directory created under V8istd. The ODOT_Fonts.rsc and msdefault.shx files were placed in this directory. This fixes an issue with the physical linestyles scaling based on the model annotation scale. The variable is now set as shown below:

This issue has been logged with Bentley technical support.

New Directory

The key-in field was moved to the face of the dialog for a more intuitive operation. The application was hard coded to read V8iSTD without any checks to see if the variable was defined. Code was added to check for XMSTD if XM is used, or V8iSTD if V8i is used. If the variables are not found, the user is notified and the application is terminated. Tightened up the "dead space" on the dialog to make it a little smaller, including reducing the width of the "To Process" dialog item. Revised the documentation to include these changes and reduced the amount of information presented.

ODOT_XSCombineQuantities.mvba, v10.10.15: NEW - application to replace ODOT_CombineQuantities.exe. The program was ported to MicroStation VBA rather than a stand-alone Visual Basic 6 executable. The old .exe version of the application should be deleted. This version cannot be run as a stand-alone application and must be run from MicroStation.

The program will now issue a message if there are no matching stations found in the earthworks and seeding files.
