USA Shooting Team Foundation Champions CircleUSA Shooting

USA Shooting’s history dates back to the Inaugural Olympic Games in 1896 when two brothers representing the United States, Sumner and John Paine, won gold medals in the Free Pistol and Military Revolver events respectively. The legacy of American Olympic Shooting excellence continues to this day with U.S. Shooting Team members winning over 100 individual medals in Olympic competition–more than any other country. As recently as the 2008 Olympics, Shooting Team athletes accounted for six medals, ranking Shooting as one of the most successful U.S. Olympic sports.

USA Shooting is the National Governing Body for Olympic Shooting Sports as recognized by the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) and the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF). In carrying out its mission, USA Shooting maintains a National Team as well as a National Development Team with over 100 athletes competing in 15 Olympic events in three disciplines – Pistol, Rifle and Shotgun. Dedicated to fielding the best team in the world, USA Shooting provides athletes with an array of support services in preparation for international competition. USA Shooting selects team members to represent the United States at annual World Cups, Championships of the Americas, World Shooting Championships, Pan American Games, World Shotgun Championships and Olympic Games.

USA Shooting carries out its mission by:

Selecting and supporting the U.S. Shooting Team

Maintaining National and Development Teams

Employing a full-time staff and national team coaches

Supporting the Resident Athlete Program at the

Olympic Training Center

Hosting the National Championship and World Cup

The Champions Circle is USA Shooting Team Foundation’s exclusive philanthropic society and inner circle of friends. Champions Circle members provide annual funding for national and international competition opportunities for USA Shooting’s elite National Team. Support provides world-class training, coaching, and performance services using the finest equipment and facilities in the world. In addition to providing support for the National Team, a significant commitment is made to the grassroots development of tomorrow’s Olympic Shooting champions.

Champions Circle memberships range from a one-time contribution of $5000 to the medalist program levels with annual payments over a four year period.

Champions Circle members will have VIP access to the Olympic Headquarters in Colorado Springs and to Olympic travel packages through USA Shooting. Members will have opportunities to attend international competitions and enjoy access to exclusive industry programs and promotions. All members will be recognized at the Olympic Shooting Center and through the Champions recognition program.

USA Shooting Team Foundation was incorporated in 2008 as the non-profit 501(c)(3) fundraising arm of USA Shooting, providing resources necessary for success in the highly competitive world of international shooting. The Foundation raises money to support year-round athlete training, world-class coaching, team development and competition needs of USA Shooting.

USA Shooting receives no federal funding and operates solely through private donations from individuals, corporations, foundations - including the USA Shooting Team Foundation, as well as support from the U.S. Olympic Committee. Funding efforts include industry partnerships, on-line giving opportunities, planned giving, endowment funds, a major gifts program as well as the Champions Circle annual fund.
