a) Coal liquefaction plant design:Conceptualised the design layout, equipment sizing of the coal milling station to achieve the required “top size” from “run of the mill coal”, flow beneficiation equipment sizing (stockpile, reclaim hoppers, belt conveyors, classification station circuits, battery of storage bunkers, staging, bucket elevators, “gasifier” station & ash to dump) and project cost with minimal losses. Proposed a sequenced and automated operation using pneumatics and hydraulics for safety.Collaborated with instrument and control and civil engineering sub-contractors for their design input.Designed process pressure and non-pressure vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers and accessories.

b) Jatropha bio-diesel plant:As for the vessels above, including overland bulk storage tanks to approved international standards.

This entailed installation of new slurry pumps, piping, structural staging, the filter press and discharge bins.

The Coal Flow Project to reduce rail demurrage & manual handling. This involved a common rail/road offtake bunker, a bucket elevator, conveyor and a tripper discharging into an existing bunker. •Proposed re-routing of ”Bulk Raw Sugar Off-Loading Project“ to expedite off-loading of raw sugar & reducing rail/road traffic demurrage. This involved twining adjacent rail and road off-loading bunkers and a new exit route for trucks.•Coal Flow Handling Plant for Bulawayo sister company to reduce manual labour & reduce front-end loader use to feed 6 boilers. This involved an off-take bunker, an inclined conveyor, 2 overhead conveyors, scrappers and chutes.
