Dear Parents/Carers As the examinations approach we would like to offer some hints to you as parents and to pupils to make sure pupils are prepared but not overly stressed during this time. Below are the hints and tips that are recognized to work! Pupils: Give yourself enough time to study. Don't leave it until the last minute. Organize your study space. Practice on old exam papers. Explain your answers to others. Take regular breaks. Snack on 'brain food'. Parents: Encourage and support your child/ren. Limit their use of social media during revision sessions—don’t let them get distracted by Snapchat! Make sure they get enough sleep. Try to focus on the positive during exam time, if an exam hasn’t gone well, try to make them move on and focus on the next one instead. Encourage healthy eating. We wish all of our pupils success and we will help any way we can. Rona Jones Pennaeth/Headteacher

Modern Beatitudes
Blessed are those who can laugh at
themselves; they will have no end of
fun.
Blessed are those who can tell a
mountain from a molehill; they will be
saved a lot of bother.
Blessed are those who know how to
relax without looking for excuses; they are on the way to becoming wise.
Blessed are those who know when to be quiet and listen; they will learn a lot of new things.
Blessed are those who are sane enough not to take themselves too seriously; they will be
valued by those about them.
Happy are you if you can take small things seriously, and face serious things calmly; you
will go far in life.
Happy are you if you can appreciate a smile and forget a frown; you will walk on the sunny
side of the street.
Happy are you if you can be kind in understanding the atti-
tudes of others; you may be taken for a fool, but this is the
price of charity.
Happy are you if you know when to hold your tongue and
smile; the Gospel has begun to seep into your heart.
Blessed are they who think before acting and pray before
thinking; they will avoid many blunders.
Above all, Blessed are those who recognise the Lord in all whom they meet; the light of
truth shines in their lives – they have found true wisdom.

Popes tweet: March 25th He died, He was buried, He rose and He
appeared. Jesus is alive! This is the heart of the Christian message.
Please also pray for the Pope as he travels to Egypt tomorrow as a
pilgrim of peace.
Congratulations to William Bishop who competed on Saturday in
Worcester with the North Wales Knights Wheelchair Basketball, under
15 team. William is one of the newest players and they successfully
secured first place at the finals of the GB Lord Taverner's League!
Navigation on the Clwydians - On Wednesday, as
part of the cadet syllabus of the BTEC, eighteen Year
10s took part in a navigation exercise, testing their
map-reading skills, and developing personal confi-
dence and initiative. Everyone has already taken part
in Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, but this exercise
meant the cadets would be tested on their own. There
were a few worried faces at the start, but everyone
proved to themselves that they can map read across
hilly countryside, … and enjoy themselves. There were
lots of discussions about route choices, and path
steepness, and lots of smiling faces … well done to all.
Snowdonia Walk - 15 cadets and 6 adults travelled to Snowdonia on the 24th April, to attempt to reach the summit of
Mount Snowdon. There were two groups, one group with eight cadets, two mountain experts and Major Percival and the other
group with seven cadets, one mountain expert, Captain Bunn and Colonel Wood. As they were walking up they came across chal-
lenging weather which slowed the walk down and caused one of the two groups not to reach the summit. The group with seven
cadets managed to reach the summit even in the snow and the hail and were extremely proud of themselves when they reached it.
Overall the walk was very enjoyable but quite challenging but the cadets said they are glad they did the walk as it was a good expe-
rience and it was good preparation for future walks or expe-
ditions.
