Covered with a carpet of winter mist and the warmth of the morning sunlight, the dawn of a new day is here. The Orange city will play host to VNIT’s Annual Sports Festival, VSF. Given the go in the year 2010 by the then director Dr. S.S. Gokhale, VSF proved to be a major success in its inaugural year. Fuelled by the enthusiasm and youthfulness the college seeks to be a great host. We are fortunate to have Mother Nature’s blessings bestowed upon us, as she provides the perfect climatic and playing conditions during thethe month of January. The lush green campus will be filled with friendly warmth and hospitality as VNIT welcomes you all to what will be a sporting spectacle.

VNITEstablished in 1960, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, erstwhile VRCE, has garnered a reputation as a premier engineering institute in the country over the years. With a sprawling campus and its location in the heart of Nagpur, the institute has seen many of the country's most respected and esteemed corporate barons and academics pass through its halls. VNIT pans the Indian student community, selected through AIEEE, and represents the best of India’s engineering talent. VNITVNIT is currently rated one of the top 5 NIT’s and features in the top 25 technical institutes in this country. It has come a long way from being a regional college to one of the best National Institutes of Technology.Besides offering both undergraduate and graduate level programs in Engineering and Architecture, VNIT has also become a major player in the field of cutting edge research and state of the art facilities for CAD-CAM , VLSI, nanotechnology, GIS , remote sensing etc.
The inaugural edition of VSF saw a tremendous response from various NIT’s all over India. The sports fest sent temperatures soaring even during the winter chill with dazzling performances from many of the students. a fest with the intent of bringing together students from all over India and making them play under one roof with the winner being sportsmanship was a huge success. The first ever VSF saw students indulging in sports such as Cricket, football, volleyball and table tennis. The fest was well received by all outstation participants. At the closing ceremony farewell was bid, but we eventually knew that our paths are going to cross again at Nagpur a year later.

AA gentleman’s game, as known to most people, cricket is a game followed as a religion in VNIT. The cricket fever will be at an all time high as teams will battle on the VNIT cricket field. Runs will pour and so will the heart of fans.
It is the game where most players gasp for their breath. It is a sport known for keeping the audience on their toes. As the ball is kept rolling, the game goes on.

Basketball is the game which depicts the Basketball is the game which depicts the youthfulness of sport. A growing culture at VNIT, the introduction of this event in this year’s fest promises to be a highlight of VSF. Games under the starlit night sky will be greeted by the VNIT basketball fanatics. The event will have bothboth men’s and women’s division. So lets ‘Jump Ball’.
In VNIT, football is a obsession. Every VNITian plays football, whether he possesses the skill or not. This craze will never end in VNIT for the green grass off the VNIT sports ground will play venue for the event. As the boys lock horns and do what they do best, we will surely be entertained!be entertained!

AA game played by almost every kid in his childhood, badminton is one of the most pleasant games known to man. But when it gets competitive, Good Bless! It is an open category event and promises to live up to its expectation.

The table version of tennis is undoubtedly The table version of tennis is undoubtedly the most popular game amongst hostellers everywhere. The game is pleasing to the eyes and ears as well. Competition is predicted to be fierce for this open category event.
Volleyball is usually meant for the people with arms of steel. A sport which involves lot of energy and pace and which is always a treat to ones eyes. Volleyball is a sport which has real enthusiasm and team work about it. Its all about the team chemistry.the team chemistry.
