September 11th is the big day for the start of our Fall Encore events. Dr. Carreon will speak on senior adult wellness. The program starts at 10:30am in the ROC. We will have a catered

lunch at 11:30am and the cost is $7.00. So mark your calendars and sign-up in your Connection Group or contact the Church Office at 806-832-4511. Encore fall programs will resume on Monday, September 11th at 10:30am. In September, the guest speaker will be Dr. Carreon discussing Senior Adult Wellness. The annual Fall Celebration in October will feature a guest speaker, and in November, Penny Davis from Plains Baptist Encampment will be speaking on her mission trip overseas. Dr. Sarah Herrington will be the guest musician in December, singing and playing the piano for our Christmas program.

KIDZVILLE is for children ages Nursery to 6th Grade

PRESCHOOL & KINDERGARTEN WORSHIP: Sunday Mornings during 11:00 AM Service (Room 100) KIDZ CHURCH: Kidz Church services will resume Sunday, August 27th. BIBLE DRILL-Starting back September 10th from 4:30-6:00PM in Kidz Church! This Class teaches 4th-6th Graders Bible Memory skills, books of the Bible and memorizing Scripture. Please bring your kids to this class every Sunday night starting September 10th. WEDNESDAY NIGHT KIDZVILLE CLASSES BEGIN AUGUST 30TH, 6:30-8:00PM! Please look to see where you need to drop off and pick up your child. Parents must come inside and pick up their kids from their classrooms!

CONGRATULATIONS: To Casie & Bryce Muller in the birth of their son, Micah, born on Wednesday, August 23rd at 5:38pm. He weighs 8.6lbs and is 21 inches long. Kaedyn and Avery are proud big sisters.

COUPLES RETREAT: Join us for a weekend get away at Glorieta, NM on October 12th-15th. The cost is $600 per couple and covers accommodations, meals and activities. One activity includes the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. Payments will be made to First Shallowater. Contact the Church Office at 806-832-4511 for more information.

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY: Starting Wednesday, August 30th at 7:00PM. The Bible Study for the Wednesday Night Women’s Group is “Steadfast Love” by Lauren Chandler. It is a study of Psalm 107-Learn to trust Jesus in each season of life. Come enjoy getting in the Word of God and learn Bible journaling techniques to go with the study.

CHRISTMAS CHOIR AND DRAMA: The Christmas Choir will begin rehearsing on Sunday, September 10th and September 24th from 4:00-5:00pm in the Worship Center. We are planning a bigger program this year with choir, drama, soloists and Children’s Christmas choir. If you are interested or would like your child to be involved please contact the Church Office at 806-832-4511 or Gary Koerner at 806-544-4054. COMMUNITY BIBLE STUDY: Join us Wednesday, September 13th at 10am in the Chapel for our weekly Bible study open to the community. Our pastor, Byron Jackson, will be facilitating the study “Meeting Jesus” by J.I. Packer. We are asking for $7 donation to cover workbook costs. LIFE GROUP: Our Life Groups will be meeting weekly beginning Wednesday, September 6th from 6:30-8PM and Sunday, September 10th from 5-7PM. This is an opportunity for you to grow in Christ, create genuine relationships, and enjoy food and fellowship. Join us to discover true community right here in Shallowater.

PRAYER FOR SERVICES: Leadership team members...Richard Gunkel, Traditional Worship Representative, and Angie Smith, Contemporary Worship Representative invite you to join them by signing up to pray during one of the Worship service times that you don't attend regularly. Our desire is to be in prayer for each other and our worship leaders while worship services are going on. We will have sign up sheets at the Navigator stations and in all Connection classrooms. After hearing God’s word preached this morning. I feel God is leading me to do one of the following:

I want to become a believer and follower of Jesus for the first time in my life. I admit I’m a sinner in need of a Savior, and I believe Jesus is my savior. I believe Jesus is God’s only son who died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sin. I believe it and receive it! I’m ready to follow Jesus all the days of my life.

I am a Christian already, but I’m struggling to live like it. I need encouragement and am open to having a mentor assigned to me by the Pastor or Staff for my spiritual growth.

I want to be Baptized! I am a believer and follower of Jesus, but I have not yet been Baptized by immersion.

I want to become a member of the church and am ready to attend the NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION CLASS! I would like the Pastor or staff to contact me with info.

BIBLE DRILL: Bible Drill for all 4th – 6th Graders This class teaches the books of the Bible, 25 Bible verses and 10 key passages all by memory. The information learned will last a lifetime.  

   

You must realize that God loves you but you are separated from God by a sinful nature.

Roman 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

You must believe that God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ as a payment for sin.

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Although humanity through sin has separated itself from God, the sacrifice of Jesus, on the cross, bridged that gap.

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Jesus Christ died for us.”

All that God asks is that you repent (turn away) from your sins and accept the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made on the cross for those sins.

Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
