REMOTE TEACHING SESSION: 9am-10am daily
Grade 56 students will receive a 1 hour face to face remote teaching session with their teacher each day. These sessions will
be run using Microsoft Teams and will focus on Reading, Writing, Maths or Inquiry.
The link to your child’s Microsoft Teams meeting will be sent to them via Microsoft Teams each morning.
Advice for accessing your child’s Microsoft Teams meeting:
Please log on 5 minutes before the start time.
Ask your child to organise the resources they will need prior to the start time.
If you have any questions or you are not able to access the Microsoft Teams meeting, please refer to the instructions
available on Sentral or contact the school via phone on 03 8766 4000 or email at [email protected].

At 10.15am this morning we are
having a guest speaker talk to us
about a business that they own or
have owned. Before the talk, come
up with at least 3 questions you
may have about our guest
speaker’s business.
During the talk, if you hear the
answer to your question, write it
down. If you think of new
questions throughout the talk, write
them down. If at the end of the
lesson you still have questions, you
Support: You are to list the possible
outcomes of the event. The event is
the flipping of the coin:
The outcome is what happens from the
event.

will have the opportunity to ask the
guest speaker.
After the talk, please complete
these sentences:
The most interesting thing from the
talk was…
I would like to know more about…
I think the guest speaker’s business
worked well because…
Can you circle/tick which outcomes will
occur from the event?
The coin lands on heads
Mr Felsinger will cook your
dinner tonight
A fairy will complete your
homework
The coin will land on tails
You will use your hands to flip
the coin
Task: Today you will be completing a
probability experiment. Your task is to
flip a coin 50 times. You must list the
outcomes of the event.
e.g. I flipped a coin 10 times. My
sample size is 10.

Once you have flipped the coin 50
times and listed your outcomes.
Answer the following questions:
1. What is the probability of the coin
landing on heads?
2. What is the sample size?
3. If I were to flip a coin 20 times,
how many heads/tails can be
expected?
Challenge: Watch this video on

problem. The information that you
find out will be part of Writing
today.
1. Ensure you complete all
Reading tasks.

Task:
Take your results from yesterday and first
work out what the probability of pulling out
different counters was.
For example: Mr Micari pulled out a red counter
on his first shot. There was only 1 red counter in
the bag therefore the probability was 1/10 and
unlikely.
Do this for your first 10 results and represent it in a
table like this.
Colour red
Probability 1/10
Display these results on a probability scale like
you did on Monday!
Challenge:
Now that you’ve shown the probability of the
above counters being pulled out in fractions on
your scale. Use the table below to express the
probabilities in decimals and percentages.
