ISAIAH 9:6

Qualities of True Friendship

L _____________________ A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversi-ty. (17:17)

A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. (18:24)

T ______________________

If you argue your case with a neighbor, do not betray anoth-er man's confidence, or he who hears it may shame you and you will never lose your bad reputation. (25:9-10)

A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy man keeps a secret. (11:13)

S ______________________

A man who lacks judgment derides his neighbor, but a man of understanding holds his tongue. A gossip betrays a con-fidence, but a trustworthy man keeps a secret (11:12-13)

Like a madman shooting firebrands or deadly arrows is a man who deceives his neighbor and says, "I was only jok-ing!" (26:18-19)

H _______________________

Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multi-plies kisses. (27:6)

He who rebukes a man will in the end gain more favor than he who has a flattering tongue. (28:23)

E __________________________

Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleas-antness of one's friend springs from his earnest counsel. (27:9)

S ________________________

If a man loudly blesses his neighbor early in the morning, it will be taken as a curse. (27:14)

Like one who takes away a garment on a cold day, or like vinegar poured on soda, is one who sings songs to a heavy heart. (25:20)
