There are Activity Bags at each sanctuary entrance for children who are in pre-school through 5th grade to use during worship. Nursery care is available for infants and children who do not turn 3 before September 1.

Announcements

Today is the last day to order your Christmas Boxwood Trees. You can pick up your trees on December 14.

If you ordered a pumpkin or apple pie from the youth, please pick it up today after our worship service.

Donations of Cliff bars (energy bars) & small cans of juice are needed by Wednesday for the care packages we'll be sending at the end of the Fall semes-ter to our college students.

Erma Frock will celebrate her 95th birthday on November 28. Let’s help her cele-brate this birthday milestone with a card shower! Erma’s mailing address is: 206 Allendale Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.

Shepherd’s Spring Holiday Cookie Camp is coming up on November 29 from 9:00-11:30am & 1:30-4:00pm; November 30 from 2:00-5:00pm; December 1, 8, & 9 from 9:00-11:30am & 1:30-4:00pm; and December 7 from 2:00-5:00pm. Call Shepherd’s Spring at 301-223-8193 to register. Each session is $48.

Join us for our Congregational Business Meeting next Sunday, right after the First Sunday worship service. Items on the agenda are an amendment to the constitution regarding the moderator, confirmation of additional leadership for 2015, and the church budget for 2015.

XYZ Christmas luncheon reservations DUE BY NOON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 5. Because this luncheon is being catered, reservations are needed early, so please RSVP on time. Kountry Kafe will be serving strawberry/spinach salad, homemade breads, roast turkey with dressing, mashed potatoes with gravy, mixed peas & carrots. pumpkin pie with whipped topping, iced tea & coffee. Cost is $18 per person plus a donation of canned goods to Loaves & Fishes food pan-try. Along with other activities, Connie Davis will share about their trip to the Holy Land. The luncheon is Tuesday, December 16 @ 12:30pm.

All children (preschool and up) are invited to attend the Children’s Christmas Party on December 14 from 4:30-7:00 pm. Sign-up in the church library to come enjoy food, fun, and games. Please see Virginia Hodgdon if you are interested in volunteering to help make this a fabulously fun time for the children.

Shepherd's Spring Outdoor Ministry Center has released a new cookbook. Featured sections include: Heifer Global Village, Meatless Monday & Special Diets, and Camper Favorites. If you are interested in supporting this fundraiser for the camp, Nancy McCrickard has copies available for $10 each. They would make great Christmas gifts.

Once again, The Shepherd’s Staff is asking for your assistance in making our Twenty-First Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner a success on Thursday,

November 27 at St. John Roman Catholic Church, Westminster 12:00-2:00pm

This year our “Angel Tree” will be ringing out with glad tidings to those in need of our support and encouragement. Beginning next Sunday, you are invited to take a bell, and purchase the item listed on its tag. The items will become a part of a Take Home Christmas Dinner Food Box to be distributed in support of the eight children/families enrolled in the Head Start program that meets here at the church or a CWS (Church World Service) Baby Kit to be distributed during natu-ral disasters to needy families here in the US and around the world. Items are due by Sunday, December 21, 2014.

Our 2014 Advent Devotionals, Awake, have arrived and will be given out over the next few Sundays. Be sure to get your copy of this inspirational devotional booklet. Advent begins on Sunday, November 30.

Each Sunday of Advent, there will be Christmas cards for BVSers (different cards each week) available to sign in the church library.

This holiday season, the children's Sunday School class will be radiating the light of God's love through service to the world beyond Westminster, by donating funds from their aluminum can drive to purchase Flocks of Hope (chickens, ducks, and geese) for Heifer Project International. The gift of chicks, ducks, and goslings from Heifer International (HPI) will help provide a family in need with both nutrition and income. As the children raise funds, a chicken will be placed on the Angel Tree for each $5 donation received for Heifer Project International. Monetary donations are being accepted to help the children with this project - please designate donations as for HPI. Thank you for your support.

Have partial skeins of yarn or flannel fabric laying around your house that you’d like to get rid of? If so, please bring them to Nancy…she’ll coordinate put-ting them to good use.

It's Messenger renewal time! Messenger is our denominational magazine which inspires, informs and connects us with the work of the Church of the Brethren. To renew or subscribe for the first time make a check to the Westminster COB and put Messenger in the info line. Please drop the check off in the church office, or the office box by the office. If you did not get an email or a phone call then your current subscription does not need renewal this year. One year renewal is $14.50 and two year renewal is $27.00. For a first time subscription it is only $7.25. Call or email David Braune if you have questions. REMOVED.

Donations needed at the Westminster Cold Weather Shelter at this time are: warm socks, sweatpants & sweatshirts (adult sizes L, XL and XXL - espe-cially for men). Donations can be brought to Nancy or the church office.

The Food Distribution Program at the Westminster Rescue Mission is look-ing for drivers to pick up surplus food from partners like Safeway, Food Lion, Walmart & Target. Please call Michael Reigner, the Food Program Director at 410-848-2222 x11 if you are able to help.
