WOLF NEWS
Janice Strohmaier—Principal
Woodburn March Newsletter April 2014
Spring break has
come and gone! This
also means we are get-
ting closer to our state
testing windows.
This year we are field
testing the computer
based Smarter Bal-
anced Assessment,
which becomes the
new Washington State assessment starting
in 2014-2015. Participating in this field test
allows both our students and staff the op-
portunity to gain some experience prior to
being held fully accountable next year.
This field test provides practice and experi-
ence with the new assessment system, but
it does not give individual student scores.
The Smarter Balanced Assessment replaces
the MSP for Reading, Writing and Math in
all grades. Our fifth grade will still be tak-
ing the MSP Science assessment.
Please make sure your kids are well rested
and arrive on time for school. Testing will
begin promptly at 9:15 AM. Below you
will find the testing dates.
Please contact me if you have any ques-
tions.
