Letter to Exchangees
Dear ICYE Exchangees,
We are looking forward to meet you soon and are glad you decided to spend your exchange time
in Kenya.
Below you will find a brief description of projects for the exchange year 2016/2017in Kenya. We
recommend that you read it thoroughly before filling in the Priority List. Moreover, it is
important that all Exchangees coming to Kenya are aware of the following points:
You can choose three different options of projects where you would like to work. Please
also look at the National Profile so you can be aware of the features of every region. We
will try to fulfill your preferences but it will depend on the availability of projects and
families in each region.
The projects described below are only some of the possible placements in Kenya and the
ones ICYE Kenya has been working successfully over the last few years. However, we
would like you to know that we keep working with new projects in different parts of
Kenya. Thus, you might be placed in one of these projects providing that they match your
project preferences and interests as shown in the priority list you will send us.
Although in the past Exchangees stayed with Kenyan host families, the situation is
gradually changing, and we have more projects offering to host volunteers and therefore
some Exchangees live within the project facilities.
If we cannot place you in the project of your choice, we will try and offer you a similar
one. We ask you to please be flexible.
WELCOME TO KENYA
KARIBU!!
