2:17 The king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained favor and kindness in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown on her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti.

Fit for a king

Before Esther (or any other woman) could enter the king’s presence, she first had to go through a one year long “beauty school” (2:12)

What would be part of the curriculum of a beauty school for potential queens?
