HERON CLASS DANCE FESTIVAL

On Wednesday, Heron Class took part in the Dorset Schools’ Dance Festival at Mere Primary School. There were six schools there and we all had to perform a dance that we had learnt. Governor of the Month

Our governors play a crucial role in the leadership of our school.

We are taking the time to get to know them a little better - and for them to get to know all of us a little better - by having a 'Governor of the Month' each month throughout the year. This month it was the turn of Mr James Meadows.

James has been a parent governor at Wyke for well over a year and has a keen interest in the school.

Mr Meadows spent a day in school this week. He is our 'EYFS' (Early Years) governor and so spent much of his day with our youngest children, the Wrens. He was very impressed with the children's behaviour and how engaged and happy they were in their learning.

Mr Meadows also spent time in the staffroom, getting to know our staff, time in the hall at lunchtime and time on the playground with the children. He also spent time talking to the children and having a look through Maths and English books to see how children's work progresses through the years.

We enjoying having Mr Meadows in school with us for the day and we look forward to the other governors getting to know us too.

Heron Class made rocky road today as part of their

class treat for all their hard work this term. They

should be very proud of all their efforts over the past

few weeks. - Mrs Rose & Mr Birkett

ROBIN CLASS WORK HARD TO KEEP THEIR ALIENS DRY!

Robins have been investigating making an umbrella to keep our aliens dry. We experimented with different materials and found which one was most suitable. Our aliens were very happy to be warm and dry! - Miss Sheere and Mrs Turvey

Thank you so much to Mr Howells for buying

the huge piece of plywood which will soon be

transformed into a piece of environmental art

to be displayed in our hall!
