    3 Optimum Product Performance

    Print Volume Range

The Xerox 650/1300 CF printer is designed for an average monthly print volume (AMPV).

    System AMPV

    Xerox 650/1300 CFprinter

    2M (linear feet)

Maximum duty cycle: Up to 30,000,000 images (8.5 x 11 or A4, 2up duplex) or

    7.3 M Linear Feet

Maximum Duty cycle is defined as:

The maximum recommended monthly print volume support under standard vendor supplied

service (3x7 shift coverage). This defines the upper end of expected customer volume band forthe device.

The Customer should expect more frequent service calls as volumes increase.

Targeted maintenance service call activity prints between service calls on a digital webproduction system are dependent on customer requirements for volume, applications, andthroughput material. Trained operators can optimize performance output and minimize servicecalls.

    6.2 Customer Responsibilit ies

The following must be completed before the system can be delivered and will be assessed inthe final site check:

    Item Comments

    Identify placement of the system

Xerox performs a pre-site inspection to

    validate adequate operator and servicespace.

Ensure the printer can be delivered tothe site

    Appropriate delivery access

    Supply the appropr iate electricalconnections

    Dedicated power required

Install a network dropFor connection of FreeFlow DocuSPcontroller and or Printer Controller

Verify the strength and slope of thefloor

    Done at pre-site inspection

Meet Environmental Specifications forroom temperature and relativehumidity year round

This is essential to the systems ability

Item Xerox 650/1300 CF printer Comment

    Images & pagecomplexity

Jobs with large quantities ofimages, logos, graphics andvery high density pages orexcessively high charactercontent etc. may causeclutching of printer (starting &stopping during print job)

As with any digital printer, some jobs may cause printperformance issues. Xeroxcontinuous feed printerhardware & software designhas been engineered tominimize these occurrences. When using FreeFlow DocuSPfor PDL printing, four startupmodes are GUI selectable toenable the operator to selectfor optimum performance: Print as received Print after job received Print after nimages

    received Job collection mode

    Number ofpages in job

When PDL printing, largenumbers of jobs containingsmall page counts can causeperformance degradation

When using the FreeFlowDocuSP, the operator canselect one of the print startupmodes from the printer GUIinterface to gain peakperformance from the printer: Job collection mode

    12 FreeFlowTMVariable InformationSuite

The FreeFlow DocuSP accepts incoming jobs from client workstations, constructs the pages tobe printed, communicates with the printer interface, sends the pages to the print engine forprinting, and manages the job throughout the entire print process. After a job has beenreceived by a FreeFlow DocuSP Controller print queue, the job, and all of its components arestored on the hard drive and processed according to job requirements, before being sent to theXerox 650/1300 CF Printer.

    Print Speed/System Performance

In general, the Xerox 650/1300 CF is capable of efficiently handling variable data jobs. Theexact size of the run length will vary based on the amount of variable coverage and elementdemographics (size and percentage of variable text vs. images/graphics).

Overall system performance is dependent upon many factors, including the variable dataapplication and workflow, network environment, image quality settings, and RIP and print rates.

    The FreeFlow

    TM

Variable Information Suite is supported on Continuous Feed printers as well asXerox cut-sheet print engines.
