Dopo aver celebrato nel 2011 il Trentennale dell’azienda, il
Gruppo Tonino Lamborghini continua a raccogliere i frutti
bia dato un grande sviluppo all’area hospitality – boutique
After celebrating the 30th anniversary of the company in 2011, the Tonino Lamborghini Group continued to build on the reorganisation process begun in 2009, initiating new projects in China and Southeast Asia and focusing on core business. In 2013 we concentrated on the field of luxury accessories, not only improving our products and their positioning, but also emphasising the essence of the brand: its uncompromising spirit and Italian genius. The Group’s vision is to bring the passion and spirit of Italy to the global market with unique and distinctive products, inspired by the world of Italian Arts & Industrial Design.

ART
The Bull In The Art
The Tonino Lamborghini bull is so much more than an image; it is emblematic of a brand that embodies strength, vitality, creativity and power. The astrological sign of founding father Ferruccio, the symbol has its roots deep in Mankind’s consciousness, going back to its very beginnings.
Here it is, in the dreams and visions of Palaeolithic man, drawn with boldness and precision in the caves of Lascaux 15000 years ago, alongside aurochs and other beasts that occupied man’s early life and imaginings, drafted by shamans for magic ritual. One of the animals most feared and admired by prehistoric man – the raging bull.
Thousands of years pass and the bull has become a God, one of the anthropomorphic deities of Egyptian religion. In the famous Narmer Palette of 3100 BC, preserved in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, the mythical king Narmer is depicted as a mighty bull slaughtering the enemy, thus succeeding in his attempt to unify the kingdom.
A famous fresco from the Minoan Palace of Knossos (Heraklion Archaeological Museum) dating back to 1500 BC illustrates a game involving a bull called “taurocatapsia” in which a female figure holds the animal by the horns - hence the saying “ take the bull by the horns” - and a second female figure stands with arms raised in order to assist a male athlete to complete a double somersault over the animal. Meanwhile, a beautiful Cretan fresco contrasts a pair of ivory-coloured girls with an ochre bull, emphasising sensuality and aggression.
A winged bull, known as Zodia, is one of the four creatures in the vision of the Prophet Ezekiel in the New Testament and occupies the left side of a wonderful artefact from the Byzantine period, the Chair of St. Mark’s, a gift of the Emperor Heraclius (Sixth Century AD), that can be seen in the Basilica of Saint Marks in Venice. The bull is linked to the Evangelist Luke, represents the sacrificial calf and the moment of Christ’s Passion.Renaissance artist Titian returned to the Greek myth of Theseus and the Minotaur, depicting the union of Zeus and Europa, with Europa being borne away on the back of a white bull. Thus the Venetian artist conjured up the ecstasy of love, rapture of the senses and fertility. In the 1780s Canova was drawn again to the story, this time in the finest white statuary marble riven from the quarries of Monte Grappa. Here, however, he chose the Minotaur as his inspiration. The frightening hybrid feasted upon the Cretan young until Theseus slew it in the labyrinth thanks to Ariadne’s thread, which allowed him to navigate a path. From this myth we learn the bull is strong and fearsome, but Man’s intelligence will make him master.
Here we have the enduring myth of Tonino Lamborghini’s raging bull – raw power and animal virility harnessed by the genius of Man, from the rituals of shaman to the artefacts of the 21st Century.

Tonino Lamborghini Luxury ShoppingHas Never Been So E-easy
“2014 is going to be a great year for Tonino Lamborghini” this is how the Chief Executive Officer of Tonino Lamborghini
S.p.A. kick-started the exclusive interview over a cup of
coffee in Milano’s via del Gesù 6, Four Season Hotel.
The reason for this enthusiasm is related to the up-coming
launch of Tonino Lamborghini’s official E-store, where the
selection of the brand’s best luxury products can be found
and bought, at once, from anywhere in the World.
“The plan for the development of the brand in the past three years included the opening of hotels, resorts, restaurants and flagship stores, where our products could be admired
and occasionally bought, but the web has allowed us to open a one-stop shop without borders, in many currencies, with tax representative in almost twenty countries and – forseen within the next 3 years - three logistic platforms, one in America, Europe and of course China - where our brand is well recognized and extremely appreciated” said
Gian Luca Filippi, the CEO of Tonino Lamborghini.
“Tonino Lamborghini Group has constantly been working on the quality of its products and service to drive the client’s choice but now the focus is also on its proprietary online channel of sales because the market is evolving very quickly and the price is no longer the only driver” - said, Gian
Luca Filippi.
9
“To be effective in the generation of sales on line we have given ourselves a set of rules to comply with: the first is that the virtual shop window must not be compared with that of our many physical stores, because it has to relate with a standalone world characterized by entirely different behavioral dynamics”.
According to Gian Luca Filippi there are seven
critical elements to the success of an online store:
platform, logistics, photos, creativity, customer
care, web marketing and store management.
To achieve the highest standards present on the
market, some of such success factors have been
outsourced to companies specialized in software
technology in order to efficiently market global
on-line luxury seekers and manage the virtual
storefront guaranteeing top class service.
“Indeed” - Tonino Lamborhgini’s CEO said - “the peculiarity of E-stores is grounded in its power to reach different types of customers with varying purchasing patterns; such as, both advanced and aware customers who know exactly what they are looking for, as well as clients who need to click through suggestions, and that for logistical reasons do not have a point of sale close to them, or who do not have time and therefore prefer to do their shopping at any time just by typing www.lamborghini.it on their smart device”.

all of this with interior design that reflects the values and
essence of the Tonino Lamborghini Brand.
“During a meeting,” - architect Costa recounts - “Tonino Lamborghini described his idea and what he envisioned for his Hotels. I accepted the challenge, I put forth my ideas, and he added precious suggestions. Since then, we have built a rapport between my collaborators, who deserve credit for these achievements, and the Centro Stile of the Tonino Lamborghini company. They have joined forces to provide the luxurious experience of a legendary Made in Italy.” The Tonino
Lamborghini Hotel project is part of a consolidated partnership
by the Tonino Lamborghini company with a important Chinese
Group, and includes plans to open 30 branded Hotels over
the next few decades.
This is only the beginning of the challenge, but thanks to the
abilities of an adept team of professionals, coordinated by
architect Renzo Costa, the Tonino Lamborghini Hotel project
aims to open a new chapter of Italian excellence.

The Tonino Lamborghini EYEWEAR collection depicts five themes which evoke the brand’s historical roots: Competition, Spyder and 1947 – which all mirror the materials and the design of the Tonino Lamborghini wristwatch models -, Dolce Vita and the new Golden Eye. The detail on the temple tips, a decoration which is the leit motiv of the collection, is inspired by the door hinges of classic sports cars and represents the distinctive “signature” of the brand on each pair of sunglasses.
SPYDER COLLECTIONThis collection features sunglasses and prescription glasses characterized by the combination of two ultralight materials: titanium and carbon. The former is just as resistant as steel but weighs 45% less, and is both scratch and allergy proof; the latter is utilized for its seven layers of fibers of different weights and directional patterns. This combination gives the eyewear an unbeatable lightness.
1947 COLLECTIONThese models have an unmistakable style, characterized by the innovative combination of an acetate frame and wooden temple tips: all the acetate frames in the collection are carefully selected from the best of Mazzucchelli, an Italian leading company in the sector. The wood used in the temple tips is Canaletto Walnut,
a type of hardwood renowned for its elegant and prestigious look and feel. Its key characteristics are stability, medium-high hardness, and endurance.
COMPETITION COLLECTIONThis line includes full-carbon sunglasses and prescription glasses. Carbon fiber gives Tonino Lamborghini models unique characteristics. Frames and temple tips are manufactured thanks to the use of seven layers of fibers of different weights and directional patterns. The glasses undergo a process of compression moulding with presses of over fifty tons in order to guarantee the maximum finish.
DOLCE VITA Presented at MIDO last year, this line is inspired by the glasses worn by the stars of Italian cinema and the international VIPs who frequented Rome during the Dolce Vita period—the iconic 60’s—to imbue themselves with mystique and charisma, and to protect themselves from the blinding Paparazzi flashes. Acetate models manufactured by Mazzucchelli, an Italian leading industry in the sector, combined with details in carbon. The main model of the line features the “Raging Bull” enclosed inside the shield, winged version, to honor the sports cars of the Dolce Vita era.

DESIGN
Tonino Lamborghini Ciclotte is a special edition exercise
bike that represents the authentic expression of the
contemporary Raging Bull’s lifestyle: style, technology
and iconography co-exist in this exclusive object of interior
design. The Ciclotte is totally different from any other
stationary bike or home fitness equipment because it breaks
the gym apparatus design mould, until now exclusively linked
to functionality. Its inimitable style allows it to be placed in a
wider range of living contexts: home, hotels VIP-suite, gym,
or outdoors.
The Tonino Lamborghini Ciclotte has a carbon and steel
frame, carbon fibre adjustable handlebar, black Alcatara®
adjustable saddle, fisplay and handlebar grip-bands in red.
The creative spirit, the passion for design and technology
which characterise the Tonino Lamborghini brand have
inspired the new Ciclotte, which features the iconic “bull”
symbol along with the brand colours and shield.
The Tonino Lamborghini Ciclotte will be distributed internationally,
available in the VIP-suites of Tonino Lamborghini Luxury Hotels
worldwide and the most exclusive concept stores and luxury
fitness centres in China, Russia and Western Europe.
Ciclotte is an exercise bike entirely Made In Italy, designed
by Luca Schieppati and produced by Lamiflex S.p.A. using a
unique, innovative combination of high quality materials like
carbon, steel and fibreglass.
Ciclotte has evolved from the prototype Ciclò, currently part
of the permanent collection at the Triennale Design Museum
in Milan, and is instantly recognisable and admired for its
inimitable silhouette, a harmonious synthesis of equilibrium
and dynamism. The large wheel that is the fulcrum of the
Ciclotte is reminiscent of late nineteenth century monowheels.
Their vintage dynamics have been reworked by refined engineering
solutions such as the epicycloid gear system, an absolute novelty
in the fitness sector.
The fruit of research inspired by total ergonomics, one of
Ciclotte’s distinguishing traits is its technological approach:
absolutely no frills, straightforward settings and fittings, and
simplicity and immediacy of use.
The two-satellite mechanism uses four gears with
differentiated teeth to generate a magnetic field and
maximise the resistance level, faithfully reproducing
pedalling conditions out on the road, but making it ideal even
for spinning.

A passion for two and four-wheeled motor vehicles is obviously part of Tonino Lamborghini’s DNA, and he recently launched two new projects carefully calibrated to revolutionise the market. The first is the Ginevra Town Life city car with a diesel or
electric engine and full carbon bodywork, a vehicle that is the embodiment of
contemporary elegance, ideal for its youthful and dynamic target.
The second project involves two scooters inspired by one
of Italian Motorcycling’s classic brands: IsoMoto
Anniversary is a 4-stroke scooter with a retro design that evokes
the 1958 Iso 150 model. It comes in three colors:
pearl white/
blue, all pearl white or all black. The Competition model is a 2-stroke scooter with a spirited modern design. Inspired by the 1949 Iso 125, it is available in opaque black.

The Town Life city car is high-tech and gutsy, sportive and elegant. Town Life is more than simply a city car: it’s a design utility vehicle with an instantly recognisable personality, willed into existence by Tonino Lamborghini, whose experience is a guarantee of quality and high performance on four wheels. Bodywork and interiors have been developed through painstaking stylistic research carried out by Tonino Lamborghini in person, at the head of a team of designers and in collaboration with Giorgio Gnesda. The technical side of the car was developed by a team of motor engineers headed by a renowned name with twenty years of experience in the automotive sector, Luigi Marmiroli.
All Town Life cars have a reinforced steel tubing chassis, whose outstanding rigidity/weight ratio guarantees unrivalled structural strength. In the event of a road accident, this stainless steel structure is designed to offer maximum resistance and thus to protect the survival cell that contains the driver and passenger. The car’s body is inspired by the smaller kinds of sports and designer cars, and is made of extra-strong composite materials. The company is particularly proud of its choice of this kind of material, created using a hand lay-up technique employing fibreglass and carbon fibre, because this offers a far
greater degree of strength and safety than is possible with bodywork constructed
from plastic materials.

“To honor the 50th anniversary of the founding of the brand of automobiles founded by my father,” proclaims
Tonino Lamborghini, “I made up my mind to create the new Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum in a 5,000 square meter wide area, which will become the larger and permanent location for the museum I originally opened in 1995 in Dosso, in the province of Ferrara.”
The new multifunctional space - called Forum Tonino
Lamborghini - is located in the old Lamborghini hydraulics
factory in Argelato, just outside of Bologna, in the industrial
belt known as Emilia’s “Motorvalley.” Showcasing the
mechanical genius of Ferriccio Lamborghini and the
industrial design of his day, the new space is also used
for entirely new and varied activities. The concept stems
from the idea that the Forum is not limited to the theme of
automobiles, but rather it should be a place for encounters.
The New Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum
COMING SOON
Thanks in part to the presence of new restaurants and
a lounge bar targeting a diverse clientele, the Forum will
become a new exhibition area for trade fairs, business
meetings, cultural retrospectives, and other events.
The section of the museum dedicated to the history
of Ferruccio Lamborghini hosts the full collection of
Lamborghini models - a collection carefully gathered by
the family’s heir and housed for many years in the Tenuta
la Fiorita on Lake Trasimeno where Ferruccio retired to
private life in the mid-1970s.
“I remember vey well the first time I told my father about my idea for the museum,” Tonino Lamborghini recalls, “he looked at me with a puzzled expression, which only grew more skeptical when I showed him two beat-up and rusty Lamborghini tractors I had found through a local farmer. A few months later, I showed him the tractors fully restored. I turned on the ignition: out came a cloud of black smoke, which turned blue, and finally was replaced by the familiar pum-pum beat of a working engine - a sure sign of its enduring power.
At that moment, my father’s blue eyes turned misty. He said:«WhenImadethesetractorsIwasyourage, withno money in my pockets.» My friend Giancarlo Corvinishowed me the first tractor, the legendary Carioca. It

was abandoned and in horrible condition in an old barn. Since then, I began an unbelievable research effort to track every product we had ever made. For years, each Sunday I crisscrossed the countryside looking for tractors. Strangely enough, I identified the first ones in the same order in which they had been built. I took it as a sign, and this coincidence spurred me to continue my search, regardless of my father’s skepticism.
Each model I came across was restored by Mauro Fiorini, a trusted collaborator, and then placed in the small Museum of Panicarola. I began broadening my search to include anything from burners to the first automobiles, but also small things: calendars containing our publicity, photographs, price lists and user manuals, precious historical documents about us. At the same time, I began to consider the idea of building a space deserving of the value of this collection which was growing ever more into a real slice of Italian post-world war II society.”
After the death of the Cavaliere del Lavoro Ferruccio
Lamborghini, his son Tonino decided to fulfill the dream
of building a museum. In 1995 the first Multifunctional
Museum Ferruccio Lamborghini was inaugurated next
to the Lamborghini Calor factory, in a small town nestled
in the Emilian countryside near Ferrara which Ferruccio
had always loved. The factory is a set of 1960’s industrial
buildings, distributed over a non-descript territory, which
adds to the overall effect.
Its architect Oreste Diversi designed the building to
suggest a sort of spaceship, since - as Tonino himself had
indicated - “It would become a communication and cultural tool bridging past and future. Therefore it would not merely be a container for objects, but rather something alive, in constant evolution, reaching ever upwards, toward the person to whom it was dedicated.”
19 years and thousands of visitors from all around the
world later, Tonino Lamborghini, with the entrepreneurial
and avant-garde spirit that defined each and every one
of his projects, decided to bring the Museum closer to
Bologna. At the same time, he decided to place increasing
emphasis on the history of his father, an important Italian
industrial trailblazer, dedicating a new space to him. “I wanted a dynamic structure that would highlight the intelligence, creativity, and peculiarity of the man to whom it is dedicated; an authentic cross-section of industrial civilization, in which every work featured is enriched by post-industrial design.”The new Museum will open in 2014. All Lamborghini
family’s factory products will be featured: tractors,
burners, air conditioners, hydraulic components, and
undoubtedly the legendary automobiles that defined the life
of the founder of the brand. As a result, besides admiring
the legendary Miura SV (belonging to Ferruccio himself),
or the futuristic Countach, admirers can marvel at the
many prototypes that often preceded the cars that were
produced: truly unique pieces.
The size of the new museum even makes it possible to
display a prototype of a helicopter, and - an aluminum

series of world cup winners - equipped with two V12
Lamborghini engines with 8,171 cc, which beat all category
records. A celebration of an unmistakable passion for the
road, the new multifunctional area also displays various
industrial design products, linked to other historical brands
of the Ferruccio Lamborghini era.
“Next to these industrial products - Tonino Lamborghini
adds - I also wanted to display the everyday objects my father was particularly attached to: his lighter, his glasses, his best loved books, as well as the accolades he received for his extraordinary industrial activity. I tried to accurately
recreate his office, while I added many photos to the walls, in an attempt to invigorate an exciting journey through the events of the life of Ferruccio, my family, and the thousands of people who revolved around him.” All the industrial
works, as well as historical family mementos such as the
famous “Barchetta” built for the Mille Miglia race of 1948,
have found a new home in a more fitting space designed
specifically to welcome a brand new and larger public: a
living breathing structure, home a variety of activities.
