AUDIENCE FEEDBACK ON STORYBOARD

• Opening shot is good, animation effects are interesting. Really sets the product apart from competitors on the market. Unconventional.

• Does the title need to have colour, if the song is called “Colours”? Too plain? Need to ensure it is central and symmetrical.

• Special effects demonstrate technical ability very well, and makes the music video very effective; special effect creates connotations of drugs, which fits in with the theme of the narrative.

• Censorship; is the hint of substance abuse to obvious? Is it damaging? Music video could be regulated or banned.

• Good shot, unique, interesting, creates contrast. Low angle shot supposed to create connotations of power and control, however this shot makes the character look weak.

• Confusing narrative; previous shot has one character with pills, yet this shot is a different character throwing up. Maybe they should be the same character?

• Good animation, very symbolic and interesting.

• Perhaps the character’s identities need to be made clearer. Establish the older versions of the main characters better.

Narrative of music video• Two main characters; a boy and a girl. Whilst they are young, they are together, but the boy struggles with drug use and mental health. Despite their love, they have severe struggles staying together.

• Through shots we see an older couple living together in what seems to be a very strained relationship, yet they are married.

• At the end we realise that the old couple is the boy and the girl, which we see through flashbacks. It ends with the audience not knowing if their relationship is going to work.
